“Okay for a night”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2010

It was an experience. At about 7pm, we lost power in the casino & hotel for a little over an hour. No back up generator. When the power finally returned, they had closed the casino & all the restaurants and bar for the night. It took over 16 hrs. for the casino/restaurants to reopen. No cashier available either. Just had to wait to cash in slips, machines etc.. It was a long wait with very little information being shared with the public. For breakfast, we did take everyone to Cooper's Family restaurant in Hayward. Fantastic!
It's an okay casino/hotel, however it is a long walk, all indoors, from the hotel to the casino. Nothing special, but it is clean & was resaonably priced.

The whole layout is disjointed, casino at one end, hotel at the other, with buffet and lounge between. In good weather one has to access from outside. It looked like access from inside was closed. There was no breakfast buffet the morning I left. The casino does not stay open all night. The reservation clerk was very nice and got an AARP discount. Also, there is no live entertainment in the casino as the place is too small. There is a small cafe in the casino. The rooms was clean, offered coffee and tea, but no sugar or creamer present.

We stayed at the LCO Casino lodge last night and all in all the hotel room was nice enough. It wasn't fancy and was mildly (really only mildly) weathered but was clean and presentable enough. If you looking for a clean, comfortable roof over your head for a decent price, I would definitely recommend the lodge.
The Casino was a bit of a disappointment. The machines were all pretty outdated and the payouts seemed pretty low. I've definitely had more fun at other casinos.

Well, the new Hole in the Wall casino in Danbury will likely hurt the LCO more at least I would hope so. We went to this location to go to the original Famous Daves, enjoy some gambling and fun with friends to celebrate a birthday.
Upon check in, our non smoking room had been mysteriously converted to a smoking room and of course, no other rooms with a king bed were available. Turns out, that wasn't really an issue, because our friend's non smoking room was right next to us!!
Also, upon checkin, no one said "hi" or enjoy your stay, or sorry about the mixup. When our transaction of checking in was completed, the desk clerk said nothiing. So....are we done checking in or do you need anything else from us?
no, we're done.
The casino itself is in desperate need of updating machines to meet the needs of gamblers. Now, seriously folks, one slot machine is like any other, right? But it's the EXPERIENCE - the friendliness of the staff, that sets one of these smoke filled rooms a part from the next is what matters.
The gals in the Cafe were great. The cashiers were nice. dealers nice, but not super nice/professional. We will NOT return!
Hayward, however is a great town with lots of beauty, golf courses, lakes and is a better destination for the summer.

Our big family has a place on LCO. We stay here as "overflow" when all of us visit.
It is what it is - a place to lay your head.
Went to see INDIGENOUS at their outdoor venue, which was the best!

We live in hayward but we love to stay at local motels during off seasons. this was our second stay at the LCO and it was great. the rate of the room was a great deal. The room was exceptible with fridge, microwave and coffeemaker all included. With the buffet and casino all there it was a awesome time. We was actually able to win back what we payed for the room. plus they give you vouchers to play at the casino and coupons for the buffet. We thought it was all a GREAT deal. We plan to stay there again soon.

Stayed at the LCO Casino Hotel on two occasions in July and found it adequate. The staff could show more enthusiasm, however. The breakfast was included and was standard coffee/juice/rolls. Not a lot but OK. Rates for the rooms were less than other hotels in the area. They have a gas station that sells the lowest price gas in the area. Also, the buffet in the casino was good.
