The chefs appetizer was different and good - baked oysters with a raspberry habenero sauce. Then had the poblano corn soup and bacon Gorgonzola spinach salad - both we're good. Then the entrees: porterhouse steak and the seafood special - skate wing. The first round of food was cold, we had to send it all back. I will say the staff was apologetic and tended to the issue immediately. The second round of entrees was MUCH better. However, the steak came with some type of corn cake that was almost inedible - dry and cakey. The skate (fish) came with little seasoned potatoes - almost like breakfast potatoes - they web ok, but not a good pairing with the delicate fish.
Oh, the bread was very good too... One rosemary, one whole wheat, and three cheese with two different butters and an olive tapenade.
They comped dessert so we tried the "new York cheesecake" and strawberry ice cream, and the Chef's special of some sort baked bread pudding... Both were sub-par.
They have recently hired a new chef and I am unsure this is the direction they should be going. I am not saying it was terrible, but I have had much better food at these prices. We went out for pizza the next night.
