This museum was much more than I had expected. I am not a huge train buff, we went for my father. But I have to say I was very impressed! How can you stand next to the "Big Boy" and not be impressed! And then to be able to stand in the cab area and touch the "controls" is an amazing experience.
I had expected to see lots of oil cans, railroad signs, lanterns and the like. There are some tools but it is not the focus of the museum. The interactive board showing the train lines and where they traveled was very interesting.
We watched the movie on the Big Boy, very interesting facts. The power it has to pull a train that long is impressive.
My daughter kept very busy entering the cars and engines. She is used to the museum that lets you look but not enter. Even a cute caboose for kids birthday parties in the museum.
We used a tip someone had posted before us, 1 adult gets in free with an adult when you show your AAA card. Worked great!
