“Kids can go into the train cars and engines”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2014

This museum was much more than I had expected. I am not a huge train buff, we went for my father. But I have to say I was very impressed! How can you stand next to the "Big Boy" and not be impressed! And then to be able to stand in the cab area and touch the "controls" is an amazing experience.

I had expected to see lots of oil cans, railroad signs, lanterns and the like. There are some tools but it is not the focus of the museum. The interactive board showing the train lines and where they traveled was very interesting.

We watched the movie on the Big Boy, very interesting facts. The power it has to pull a train that long is impressive.

My daughter kept very busy entering the cars and engines. She is used to the museum that lets you look but not enter. Even a cute caboose for kids birthday parties in the museum.

We used a tip someone had posted before us, 1 adult gets in free with an adult when you show your AAA card. Worked great!

“Awesome--Especially for Train Buffs”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2013

Great place to see the history of trains. From their start to the golden age of trains--all is covered here. I especially enjoyed seeing "Big Boy" up close. You get to climb aboard and examine the interior as well as a look at the train President Eisenhower rode in.

There's a theatre that plays a lovely film about the heyday of trains as well.

“A Must See in Green Bay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2013

If you are even a slight fan of Railroad history, do not miss this museum. Close to 20 trains to see along with great info & memorabilia from the great days of railroad travel. The exhibition of dinnerware was really cool and seeing snow plow trains was very interesting.

“Bring your kids to the Polar Express”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2013 via mobile

Our experience on the Polar Express was very good. Our daughter loved it. The hot chocolate was delicious and the narrator was one of the best I've ever heard. Try to request tickets for a train car other than the double-decker. If you're forced to ride the double-decker, DO NOT sit on the upper deck. If you do, you'll be waiting in line for a very long time to see Santa. Also, make sure you reserve your tickets as soon as they go on sale.

“Loved the visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013 via mobile

We visited the museum with our daughter and our 2 year old grandson. Our grandson loves trains, and it was so much fun watching him going from train to train. He also enjoyed the train ride. I hope we can return next year.
