“Just another hotel now...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2005

My wife and I have stayed at the HI City Centre many times for both business and pleasure. We would go about once a month, just for fun. The location isn't fantastic but the staff has always been exceptional and the rooms are ok. Getting a little old and in need of renovation but still ok, never spent much time in the room anyway. The main reason we've always chosen the Holiday was the entertainment in the lounge on Friday and Saturday night. We were so disappointed last time (December 2004) we went down to find out that "Ken and Ardo" are no longer playing there, we checked out a day early and haven't been back since. Sad to say, but that was the only thing that made the hotel special. Now it's just another hotel, so we'll stay somewhere a little newer, in a little better part of town and closer to things.

We love the holiday Hotel in City Centre! The River Room restaurant is superb. The staff is always friendly. The rooms are clean and spacious, and they have a very nice pool area. Even nicer than the Regency Suites! Stay here if you want to have a good, fun stay at a clean and friendly hotel!

Assets of the Holiday Inn City Centre in Green Bay include a decent dining room and a friendly bar (though we noted that it closed at an unusually early 10 p.m. on our weeknight visit). We found the staff very friendly. The indoor pool area is very plain, but the facilities are maintained and we found the hot tub temperature to be just about perfect. The same can be said of most of the guest rooms and much of the hotel, once you get past the lobby and the restaurant area: nothing noteworthy. The location in the heart of the downtown is handy for us and so we use it from time to time, but it is not a good choice for anyone looking for any kind of special experience. We regard it as "ready for renovation". The HI also owns Coaches Corner, which is located in a separate building on the property. This is a place to go for casual eats and a more lively bar crowd.

Stayed here a couple of times on business, found it to be adequate. The lobby/lounge nautical motif is a bit oppressive with the dark paneling, but the rooms were brighter. There seemed to be a large turnout of regulars to hear the live entertainment in the smoky lounge, a guy with a guitar and rythm box.
Breakfast was very good, dinner fair. The staff at breakfast was very cheery, dinner staff less so. Front desk very helpful and courteous.
Ask for a room with a river view, unless bridge on-ramps are your thing.

I had an excelent stay here while in town for a Packers game. Rooms were clean, hotel was quiet, food at the restaurant was pretty good. Only a 5-10 minute drive to Lambeau Field. Indoor pool area was very clean and spacious. This will definitely be my hotel of choice whenever I come to town to see the Pack. Thansk for the great stay.

Should have know better as soon as I walked in and heard the staff complaining about the rooms.

Checked-out 5 minutes after finding stained sheets on a lumpy bed.

To make matters worse, desk clerk was rude when I asked if I could look at another room.

Needless to say, I decided to look for another hotel.

Ended up at a Best Western a few blocks away that exceeded my expectations. I know where I will be staying next time I have business in Green Bay.

This hotel was overpriced and run down. Staff was very nice, but the room was definitely not worth the $90 it cost to stay there. I will stay at the Regency Suites across the street next time I'm in Green Bay.
