“Really perfect spot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2013

This hotel worked perfect for our family. We wanted a hotel that allowed us to walk everywhere in Fish Creek (no drinking and driving) and was near great restaurants and could accomodate our 2 teenage boys and ourselves. Major score. The inside and outside pools made us all pleased. The proximity to Penninsula was incredible..we walked to the bike rental and were off for a perfect family day. The room was spacious with a great view of the pool from our balcony. The room was tidy and well appointed with both decor and necessities. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. We could not have been happier in Fish Creek.

Room Tip: Pool view allowed a great view and incredible light.

This is the fifth year we have stayed at Homestead Suites. The decor is a bit worn and tired. In the Hickory Suite, the shower is in the jacuzzi and is difficult to get in and out of, especially for older adults and younger kids. There was a problem with an animal (mouse was suspected) causing movement under bed pillows during the first night of stay. (First problem of this sort in 5 years.) The hotel management was very accommodating and changed our room the next morning, but we lost a night of sleep and more than a half day of a room being available to us on a very rainy day. Earwigs were also found in the first room. The indoor pool is great, especially on rainy days. The free breakfast adds to the value. The hotel is very conveniently located on the north end of Fish Creek, just outside the entrance to Peninsula State Park.

You really can't go wrong here. Scrupulously clean, rooms were large with comfy beds with quality mattresses. The location is great and away from the bustle of the main drag in fish creek. However, you are easy walking distance to some great eateries. Peninsula state park is right there plus you are. An easy drive up to sister bay, egg harbor or over to baileys harbor.

My family and I travel to Door County every year, and we always stay at this hotel. The continental breakfast is amazing, and free! Muffins, juice, doughnuts, anything you want! Once done with breakfast, my family always goes to the pool. Both the indoor and outdoor pools are gigantic and heated, and both have a huge bubbling hot tub. Also, the indoor pool has showers, a big sauna, and a game room! The rooms are awesome, all the TVs work, and the beds are super comfy. The pillows are so soft! The maid comes twice a day, and vacuums, replaces the bed sheets, and cleans up. The shower/tub is big, and there are no plumbing problems whatsoever! Also, the soap and shampoo is amazing, I know, weird. There is even a weight room and a gift shop! All in all, the hotel is always clean, and very fun and luxurious.

Room Tip: All the rooms are good, but I would get one on the top floor to avoid noisy people above me.

We booked two rooms at this hotel, one for us and one for our children and grandchildren. The location is great, and the indoor pool is nice. The separate bedroom space is good, although the bedroom lacks its own air conditioning, so you have to keep the door open and the bedroom is hotter than the living room.

The breakfast is fairly good and the rooms are pretty clean. But - the room with our children and grandchildren was infested with earwigs. We didn't want it sprayed while they were staying in it, and there was no other room for them to move to. So far, the management has not offered to make any accommodations to correct a somewhat icky situation.

We haven't been to Door County in 35 years and after staying at this hotel we will be back for sure. Very nice place. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a 2 room suite and it was very nice. The location is good. It's close to everything. There is a restaurant right across the street and walking distance to everything else. We can't complain about anything staying at Homestead suites. Will be back for sure.

With summertime visits for the past 15 years, I feel qualified to report that this hotel is maintaining the high quality that we expect. They've kept up with the times by investing in their property. Heavy keys have been replaced with swipe cards, the included breakfast is still excellent and the rooms have seamless wifi. Close proximity to Peninsula State Park makes this the perfect family option and with both an indoor and outdoor pool, there is always something to do.
