“It was clean and comfortable, a bit outdated, and quite pricey...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2010

There was good and there was bad... We stayed in room 104 which was considered the honeymoon suite. It had a king bed, fireplace, whirlpool, wet bar (coffee pot, microwave, fridge and styrofoam cups), couch, table and chairs and cute little deck surrounded by trees. There was nothing wrong with the room, except that the decor was quite outdated. Nothing seemed to match. Out total bill for 2 nights (Friday and Saturday) was $365.oo. The smaller rooms were less expensive, but I was told on the phone they were only 12 x 12 and they only had queen size beds. To me this was quite expensive, but after looking at everything else in Door County, this was pretty average. The indoor pool and outdoor patio for sunning were nice and very quiet when we were there. It was close enough to Fish Creek you could have walked, but we drove down because we were shopping and didn't want to have to lug our stuff back.

We had three standard queen rooms (6 adults) at $107/night and the conditions were deplorable...mildewy smell "covered up" with some kind of spray, drywall coming off in the shower area, no coffee pot, no hair dryer, sheets that were so thin, my 35 year old sheets were in better condition, scratchy towels, no room in the bathroom, dirty tiles and a so-called air conditioner that didn't take the humidity out of the room..

And if you think you're going to cancel once you get there, you will pay for your stay, even if you leave. I wouldn't recommend this place to my dead dog. We will NOT return there.

We arrived to find the smallest hotel room we have ever stayed in, the room had an odor, and although it was on the 1st floor there were two steps just inside the room door. The staff was very rude, there was no hair dryer in the room, and the price was outrageous. I should mention that the shower was unreasonably small and the mirror was split between two walls, so it was hard to view anything well. We would have left after the 1st night, but we could not cancel the 2nd night even though we were so unhappy. We would never stay there again or recommend anyone else to stay there.

Our stay was fairly uneventful. The room was ok, but it reminded us of a chain motel. No hair dryer provided, and the front desk only had one to loan out. We had some trouble with plumbing as well. Location is excellent--right next to Peninsula State Park. Staff was friendly, but the front desk is closed 11 pm-8 am.

For the price it is not worth it. Our room had an awful odor in the room, just AWFUL, like the toliet over spilled and no one cleaned it up. When brought to the workers attention she said that there has never had a report of an odor before, but I think it has and she knew exactly what the problem was, because there is NO WAY that the odor just started the day we checked in. A purifier was brought to our room and was ran while we were gone, but the odor never really went away. The room set up is very strange (room big enough for 5-6. The hot tub is part of the shower and was not that clean and there is some mold in the shower area, which is not good for my son with asthma. One bright point is the pool, which is clean, but is only open until 10pm. There are many, many places to stay that charge about the same and next time we are in door county we will be staying there. I do feel cheated on the price I paid for our room.

Stayed here for 2 nights in a king suite. Rooms were smaller that expected and I would have liked a larger fridge and a cooktop. The whirlpool tub was very large and everything was very clean. There was a queen murphy bed in the living room which was much more comfortable than a pull-out. Our room opened to a large sundeck that was very nice. The pool and hot tub was also very nice and staff was excellent. There are many reasonably priced shops across the street and a cafe with good food (no continental breakfast). Peninsula state park was an easy walk down the hill, but we drove to the downtown shops because it would have been a bit too far to walk. Overall a very nice place to stay.
