“More than Made up for Dated Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2013

We recently traveled to Fennimore for a funeral. The staff made special accommodations for the family and friends that were coming from out of town. Everyone was so very nice. The rooms were huge and beds were comfortable. I would certainly stay there again should I travel through the area.

I've been staying at this motel several days a year for about 25 years. You would think in that time that Fenmore Hills Motel would develop that old motel vibe. It hasn't. No old motel smell. From the road it looks nearly new. Inside it looks in really good shape. The family that used to own it took very good care of it, and the new very nice family that took over about a year ago is continuing to do so.There are two kinds of rooms--the downstair rooms that are very large and finished mostly in dark wood (real wood, very solid); the upstairs rooms are each very elaborate theme rooms with a strong romantic focus. Thus, this motel has long been a destination for couples. I've never stayed in the theme rooms because I'm there for the area flyfishing. There is a fridge, microwave and coffe pot with coffee in each room. The room is always kept very clean. The tv's are old and the channel selection and reception are poor, but few people come here for tv. It often takes a long time for hot water to get to the shower or sink, but where am I going? In some rooms the hot and cold water is switched. Most rooms have a built in steam bath or bathtub whirlpool. The back yard is several acres, including a woods trail that I found by accident. If the sky is clear, you get a pretty good star show, dimished a bit by yard lights from nearby buildings. Often many of the guests are road crews from construction operations of one kind or another. These are working people, not party people, so the motel is quiet.

Stayed here after no rooms in Prarie Du Chen were available (at least nice rooms). Motel is a little out-dated but very clean. Very reasonable rates. Will stay here next time instead of Prarie Du Chen which is about 17 miles further West and about $30.oo to $50.00 more.

My fiance and I were in the Fennimore area last weekend to do some fly fishing and we stayed in the Glass and Brass room at the Fenmore Hills Motel. I cannot applaud this motel enough. The staff is incredibly friendly. The place was spotless. The room was immaculately clean, super spacious and very comfortable from the hexagon shaped bed to the mirrored hot tub to the oversized recliner chair. The motel has other themed rooms that are also very cute, if not a little dated, which I find to be part of the charm. There was a nice assortment of breakfast goodies, fruit and bars and such, along with coffee and a lovely tea selection put out early enough in the morning for even us fisher-peoples. The motel is a short drive outside of town and worth every penny. Although my fiance has stayed here numerous times on various fishing trips, this was my first stay and I will happily do so again.

The standard rooms at the Fenmore Hills Motel are VERY large, and very clean. All rooms have a refrigerator, microwave, and in-room coffee makers with Wolfgang Puck coffee. Beds were comfortable. Our standard room had a jacuzzi tub/steam shower; it's dated - it's not a modern/spa-type shower, but it was a unexpected surprise. Very good water pressure in the shower. Not a lot of storage for clothes, for one night we were fine. Our room had thin curtains so we were up pretty early, which gave us extra time to explore town.

They also offer specialty themed suites, with king sized beds and in-room whirlpools.

The hotel offers a contintental breakfast, which consisted of coffee, fruit and fruit/cereal bars. We're not big breakfast eaters so this was sufficient for us.

The motel is pet friendly, for those traveling with their furry families.

If we're in the area, we will stay here again.

Room Tip: For a great view, ask for a room on the north side, overlooking the back yard.

My son & I stayed during a campus visit to Southwest Tech. We found our room very clean and larger than most motels. The beds were comfy and the Wi-fi had great reception. This place served our needs well.

My family and I travel to this hotel every year and have done so since the 1980s. This hotel has great small town quality and nice comfortable rooms. The themed suites are fun for a couple just getting away from it all. The atmosphere of this hotel is great. The view across HWY 18 is spectacular and there is a large backyard of the hotel with a gazebo that you can stroll around. This is an excellent hotel for anyone staying in the SW Wisconsin area.
