“Ice Cream only ... more than enough!”
In August, staying in Baileys Harbor, the plan was to catch the outdoor concerts. Ephraim had one and we shouldered our chair-in-a-bag and headed to Ephraim on a pleasant week night to hear a violin and a harp out of a gazebo with the bay as a backdrop. After claiming our spots, I volunteered to walk over to Wilson's for ice cream. They were considerable servings and probably took the 1st 30 minutes of the music to eat ... but delicious. I had some cafe mocha flavor with nuts and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had not wanted to skimp so I upgraded to a larger serving. Both dishes ran close to $ 10 total but it was very good. I must say, ice cream was a bit better than the concert, but all was blessed with an evening with some sunset (due to overcast) which was well worthwhile. After the concert, we did attempt to grab a sandwich but they indicated they were not serving. As we were exiting, someone came after us to say we could have a limited menu, but we had decided not to stay. Being the last week of August, many places had a sense of winding down somewhat. The summer staff of college students start going back to classes so midweek probably has shortage of workers. This is a tourist spot - like Al Johnson's. But the ice cream totally satisfied and we probably could have lived with a smaller serving.
