“Nice place to have breakfast”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2013

We had breakfast here last week , It seemed to be a good place but nothing very special . It did have a great view of the lake .
The prices were high as most places in Door county are this time of year.

“Great traditional restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

Old Post Office Restaurant had great authentic feel and look to the building inside and out. The food was great, but the waiter did not seem very happy to be there that morning. Another ding in my book would be the lack of a waiting room. People piled up at the door and partly into the dining room because there was no real waiting area for people. Beautiful view of the bay however.

“Entertainment with good food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2013 via mobile

Everything we read about Door County said go to a fish boil! So wanting to partake in a regional "thing" we started researching fish boils. There are a lot of them in Door County! So after reading reviews we made a reservation at The Old Post Office Restaurant. The boil is entertaining, the food is good, and the staff are super nice! They even take the bones out of the fish for you! Which is a plus in my book! However.....the place is lacking in ambiance and fun!!! We felt like we were at a church reception. We did a lot of research and not one site or review made any mention that Ephraim is a dry town! Now this isn't really that big of deal but I would have liked to known ahead of time if I can't have a glass of wine with my fish. Overall it was okay, but you might have more fun elsewhere.

“Wake Up!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2013

Breakfast was the meal we had at the Old Post Office Restaurant. The view over the harbor was very nice and the restaurant has a nice ambience. The service was excellent and the food was very good. Prices were very reasonable.

“Best Fish Boil in Door County”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

My family has been visiting Door County for almost fifteen years. We have tried two different fish boils and feel like the best one in Door County is at the Old Post Office Restaurant. Reservations are a must, as many of their seatings sell out in advance. There are usually three times to choose from, a 5:15, 6:30 and 7:45 p.m. seating. The restaurant is located in Ephraim and is on the water. Views are spectacular. Especially if you are there during a sunset. You should plan to arrive early to see the presentation from Earl, the boil master. He is entertaining and informative and has been doing this for many, many years. After the boil over, you will head into the restaurant to get your plate and be prepared to have a fantastic, tasty meal. The consistency of the quality of this meal is amazing. You get fish (or chicken or ribs), red skinned potatoes, onions (yummy), slaw and a choice of several tasty breads, zucchini, lemon, rye and pumpkin. You will then be seated and your server will come by and offer to "debone" your fish. Take them up on it, as it is difficult to do for the average diner! They will also take your drink order which consists of tea, lemonade, milk or coffee. The food is wonderful. We have NEVER had a meal that didn't satisfy. Service is always fantastic. At the end of your dinner, you will be served fresh cherry pie. All of this is included for a very reasonable cost. We are unable to get to Door County often, usually only once a year. We always eat an Old Post Office fish boil twice! It is that good!
