We travel to Door County many times per year and have been doing so for over 20 years. We've seen restaurants come and go and have been to most of them. One of our favorite restaurants was Summer Kitchen. The owner sold his interest to two brothers and they changed the menu around to include a lot of Mexican entres. The salsa and guac is always fresh and very good. The new owners kept the soup bar - the choices of soup are not that appealing any more though for my taste (except for the chicken and dumpling). Some of the charm of the old Summer Kitchen has been lost as most of the gorgeous flowers that were used in gardens in the front of the restaurant are gone, which is disappointing. The restaurant overall needs a face-lift. A bit dated and dingy. The prices are bit high for the soup, but everything else on the menu is reasonably priced. Desserts remain fabulous. The owners and staff are always pleasant. We will be back.
