“Love this place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013

This was our second stay...we come to Elkhorn for family reunions
at our cousin's home about a mile away. We are the lucky family members
who say, "don't worry about beds for us, we'll stay at Karen and John's" :-))

Agree with all the other positive comments -- this is a comfortable, warm, and
welcoming place with delicious breakfasts. Karen and John are so
interesting and engaging to talk with, and are truly interested in their guests' comfort.

Love the addition of a coffeemaker upstairs to have a cup in the room before venturing to breakfast. Can't wait for our next family reunion so we can stay at Ye Olde Manor House again!

We were pleased to find a B&B well-placed for everything we wanted to do, yet felt like a wonderful "get-away" from busy-ness. John and Karen were gracious, warm and inviting hosts who are also great cooks (Try the Eggs Maxey if it's on offer for breakfast!) and the accommodations were comfortable and restful. We're looking forward to our next chance to stay here!

This B & B was really nice, so hidden away and unexpected. It was quiet and charming, it made me feel like I was back in time when things were safe and comforting and time didn't matter...
John was a great and very courteous host and boy, he can cook!!! The blueberry pancakes were to die for! The grounds are beautiful, there's a koi pond and lots of trees, and the lake is very close by. I'd love to have another excuse to go back! I was there for a seminar and it was great to be able to crawl back there and rest and enjoy the quiet... :)
oh, yes, there's an indoor pool, didnt have a chance to use it, but its awesome!

Room Tip: They are all adorable!

This was our second stay and we would definitely stay again. Beautiful grounds. Comfortable rooms and nice indoor pool. The breakfast was amazing. The innkeepers are friendly and very accommodating. I highly recommend!

This cute b n b was a pleasant surprise. My fiance and I originally booked a hotel a little further from alpine for the dmb concert recently. Our friend found this b n b and we ended up staying here instead bc it was closer. The couple who owns this property is very nice, accommodating, and serve a breakfast that beat any hotel!! There is an indoor pool and several common areas to hang out read or just relax. Every room in this extended old farm house has its own bathroom, which many b n bs do not offer! Great location for concerts at alpine or a visit to lake geneva!!

This was my first experience at a Bed & Breakfast and what an impression. I would take staying here over any hotel stay. It was peaceful, clean and what great conversations with the other guests. It was like home away from home. The bedrooms were awesome, each had it's own unique feature. I loved The Rising Sun Room, it's perfect if you are an early riser who loves waking to beautiful sunlight. Karen our hostest was so attentive to our needs. I just want to say thank you for giving us an experince that will languish in our memories always. I haven't stopped talking about our wonderful weekend getaway. It felt as if we were back in a better time and space. The breakfasts were great and Karen made sure everyone recieved everything they requested. I can hardly wait for the time to come when we can return. I will tell everyone I know that they need to and take some time for themselves at go this Bed and Breakfast at least once and I promise they will want to return.

Room Tip: Depends on what you like, the Rubye room had a very quiet peaceful feel to it, the Rising Sun Room i...

My daughter suprised me for mothers day with a gift to this wonderful B&B . We traveled almost 6 hours to get here and it was so worth it. It is the cleanest place we have ever stayed in .Karen and John are the nicest people to deal with and they want to make your stay very worth your while. Everything you can imagine they have ready for you . The breakfast was a wonderful treat that you certainly don't get staying in a hotel. We enjoyed out stay, the concert and the weather was perfect. It was so fun to spend this time with my daughter . thanks again Karen and John we will be sure to recommend your place and hope to get back there.
