“try the new menu and don't skip the ravioli”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2011

we unexpectedly ate at Lola's on the first night of their new menu. hands down our favorite dish was the squash ravioli in brown butter truffle sauce. the sauce is off the proverbial chain. i spent several minutes interrogating our server about its contents. my wife had the pappardelle with shrimp and scallops. the scallops were perfectly seared and the pasta tasted homemade. this place is among the best resort restaurants at which I've ever dined.

“Service was slow with just ok food!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2011

My husband and I ate dinner here with colleagues from our state association for innkeepers. The setting was very nice and we were excited to have dinner here. Well, my husbands salad had about 1 1/2 cups of chopped onions in it and they were not even mentioned in the ingredient list! My soup trio was very good. My filet was as tender as butter and the flavor was excellent. Too bad it was almost cold when served. Our group of six had similar complaints with their own food. And don't get me started on how slow the service was. We each had one starter and then our main dishes. Should not have taken over 1 1/2 hours.

“Good food and good atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2010

We had dinner at Lola's on the Lake and we're very happy with our meals. We had a few drinks at the bar before dinner and we could not have been happier with the bartender. She was very friendly, attentative and even met our request for a Brazilian drink (we told her how to do it and she did it perfectly). The good service continued with dinner service. The waitstaff was very friendly. The food was very good. It was well seasoned and well prepared. Look forward to going back to it on future trips to Elkhart Lake.

“Miserable food, empty restaurant”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2010

Thankfully we were staying at a resort other than the Osthoff, but since Elkhart Lake has little to nothing to offer we tried this restaurant. The food was misery on a plate. Seafood overcooked, salad greens limp with browned edges on the lettuce. It was a hot day so we think they were trying to save on electricity as the restaurant was so hot. Our food came quickly however they were both simple sautes. The scallops were overdone as was the steak. Their 'famous' squash soup, as the waitstaff called it, was something my wife and I make numerous times in the fall, in fact ours was better. The desserts tasted like they had been in a cooler for a week something I would have thrown out at home. The price was outrageous, over $150 with a mediocre bottle of wine. Our pre-dinner cocktails was watered down and tasteless. We live in Chicago and experience many good restaurants but if going to Elkhart lake, pack a lunch.

“Fine dining gets no better...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2010

First off, the service is excellent and the wait staff know the menu. The menu is interesting and varied, but not overly eccentric (which we like).

The preparations are outstanding, you will not be dissapointed! Prices are reasonable for fine dining.

The atmosphere is formal, but relaxing with a very nice and well stocked bar.
