This lodge is a log cabin with three different rental possibilities. (Upper, main and basement) The lodge itself and the grounds are very beautiful and loaded with amenities.
Problem 1 - When it came time to settle-up, the rates quoted were not what we were being demanded to pay. The owners reluctantly after much debate reduced their demands to those stated on their printed brochure that was in the lodge.
Problem 2 - We had informed the owners, in February, that we were having a family reunion with half the family staying at the lodge and other members staying at varying places nearby. At checkout time we were confronted about having additional people over! There was absolutely zero damage done to the premises! We vacuumed all the carpets, emptied the trash, washed the dishes, cleaned the refrigerator and washed/folded the towels they supplied.
Problem 3 - When we arrived we were told we had to supply our own bath towels! (They had sent the confirmation letter, stating this, to the wrong address and hand delivered it the day after we arrived.) We have rented multiple proerties over the years and have never been requested to bring bath towels especially when flying half way across the country! They proudly told us that they had graciously provided us with one roll of toilet paper for each bathroom. (There were eight of us at the lodge for four nights)
Until the last day, when we had the extremely uncomfortable and heated confrontation with the owners, we had had a wonderful time and had talked about renting the lodge again next year for our annual reunion. What could have been a great experience was soured by the disorginization and conflicting information on the last day.
We won't return......
