We ate here 3 times during our week in Door County and were pleased each time. The most interesting restaurant around with the whimsical wood carvings and giant rooms. We had the crab legs, which were already opened for you, and totally delicious! The salad bar has a few things on it missing from other salad bars we tried, such as radishes and green onions. Their homemade garlic-herb butter and warm rolls were a delight. Our waitress was excellent and even got me a little bit of the garlic-herb butter to take home. The 2nd time we ate there was just a snack because we had early-bird reservations elsewhere that day. Different waitress, but also excellent. Unfortunately, the combo appetizer seemed to be a little freezer burned, but guess not many people order all that fried food anyway. Our unplanned 3rd visit was on Friday evening when we got out of movie later than expected and missed our reservation elsewhere. Every place within miles was crowded, but were able to secure a table at the Log Den after a short wait at the bar. We had the most lean but succulent prime rib ever and again an excellent waitress.
I truly have no idea how some of the other reviewers could have encountered such a totally different experience. I hope people reading this will give this place a try.
