“Great value for a high end property”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

The room was spotless and amenities of the property were great. We had a 2nd level Brighton room which was very big and well maintained. We had two issues during our stay. The refrigerator did not work but Ice was available and plentiful. The 32" LCD TV was mounted on the wall and you could clearly hear the neighbors TV. Several times during our stay, the neighbor would turn up his TV in response to our TV being on. I guess that an armoire would buffer the sound some but not with a wall mount. Most of the Brighton rooms face the highway and the noise from the traffic does not calm down until around 7pm in the fall. The hot tub was very large and hot. The pool was great for lap swimming. The hotel does provide an enclosed area for your bicycles with a rack to lock them up. Wifi in the room was excellent. The hotel offers a free USA Today paper daily near the front desk. The grounds are immaculate.

Room Tip: Pay extra for a suite to gain access to a room in the back.. sure it overlooks the parking lot which...

Third trip to D.C. If you want peace and quiet, in a tranquil setting..this place will not let you down.
Decor could is a little 80's..ish...but spotlessly clean. Musty smell in our room seemed like masking of days when smoking might have been permitted.. but again, totally spotless, much pride in cleanliness, and particularly outside appearance and grounds. My only suggetion to potential guests..if you are sure you will be staying for at least two nights..ask them for the 10% discount (full payment will be required, as well as two weeks advance booking. I booked for three nights, and was disappointed that they never mentioned the discount when I called and booked; I saw it on the website afterwards ( and no they did not honor it after the fact.. Bottom line ..nice relaxing spot..would recommend, and would stay again.

Room Tip: choose a back room, not looking at highway

this was our second trip to Door County and our second stay at the Ashbrooke. We stayed there September 26th thru the 28th. We were in the French Country room and were more than satisfied. The king size bed and pillows were so comfortable and the room was beautiful. We enjoyed the pool and the hot tub. We stayed in the back of the building and it was so quiet. We also were able to walk to a restaurant for breakfast every morning. The next time we plan a trip to Door County again, we will definitely stay at the Ashbrooke again. The room was clean and everyone who works at the hotel were friendly and helpful. Thank you.

What some hotels lack in one area is often made up in another. While The Ashbrooke may not be adjacent to Green Bay or Lake Michigan, it provided us with remarkably clean upscale accommodations. Our room was meticulously prepared and contained all the amenities that one could reasonably expect including a comfortable king size bed in the bedroom and a two person hot tub in the comfortably sized living room--replete with a second large screen flat panel and a fireplace.

Sure, you can go cheaper, but you'd be hard pressed to find nicer.

My wife and I spent the night of Sept. 21, and 22 at the Ashbrooke in Egg Harbor, Door County, Wisconsin. We stayed in one of their French Country rooms. The room was just marvelous. The first thing I noticed was how clean everything is. I am by no means a clean freak, but this room was very well cleaned and everything looked as if it had just been remodeled. The room was very spacious, and sunny. The in room whirlpool bath and gas fireplace was used both nights and was a welcome amenity making our stay relaxing, comfortable, and romantic. The first night we used the pool and hot tub and had the whole pool room to ourselves. Again clean, functional and the pool and hot tub temperatures were just right. The staff was friendly, helpful, and the grounds and flower beds were well maintained and very attractive. The wi-fi works, so bring your computer.
I only have 2 minor complaints: First, the gas fireplace operates on a timer which is too loud as it ticks down. A digital timer would be a welcome upgrade. And second, the pillows on the king size bed are also king sized. They are way to large for some one like myself who sleeps with a smaller pillow. So if you like small pillows, be sure to bring your favorite one along.
Would I go back to, or recommend The Ashbrooke to my friends? You bet I would. Go ahead and pay the extra $$ for a much better than average hotel room, The Ashbrooke is well worth the money.
(Just two doors down from The Ashbrooke is "The Village Cafe", walk over and enjoy a killer breakfast! Highly recommended.)

Room Tip: Rooms face east or west, so if you like the morning sunshine like me, get one that faces east. Their...

Dear Will54241 - We could not be happier about the review that you took the time to write about our hotel. Thank you. I will make sure to pass your comments on to our staff.

Thanks, also, for your comments about the Village Cafe restaurant. I certainly agree about enjoying one of their "killer breakfasts." The breakfast potatoes are some of my favorites!

We hope to see you back with us in the near future.

All the best,
Fred & Debi Anderson,
The Ashbrooke

I spent two nights at the Ashbrooke this past weekend. The hotel itself is rather dated, with maroon and hunter green carpeting, silk flowers, wicker furniture. It reminded me of something decorated in the 1980's. However, the facility was very quiet and peaceful - no children running around slamming doors at all hours of the night. The pool/sauna/hot tub area was beautiful and rarely used by anyone. While the decorating leaves much to be desired, I certainly would recommend this facility due to the peaceful atmosphere (rare) and pool area.

My husband and I have stayed at the Ashbrook for the 4 time this past weekend. Again, it is a consistantly clean and quiet place to stay for adults! Egg Harbor is more low key than Fish Creek, but plenty to do! We will continue to stay here when ever we go to Door County!
