We have stayed at The Landing more than 30 times over the last 20+ years. We have looked at other places on occasion to see if there is a better resort or a better value, and we continue to stay at The Landing.

The type/size/style of the rooms is almost endless. Therefore it is important to discuss your situation (# in party, adults/children, etc.) to be sure the room fits you needs and expectations. If you have four adults, the smallest unit (called a "Flagship") will sleep four but is rather small and you may not be happy (but great for parents and two kids!). The largest room is three bedrooms (called the "Navigator") and sleeps eight.

The location is outstanding as it is in the woods (somewhat secluded), yet one block from the harbor, shopping, restaurants, a grocery store, and a brewery! A geat golf course is less than a mile away! The Landing is highly recommended!

The Landing is an ideal place to be for a Door County vacation. It's in a wooded area, walking distance from the harbor which has incredible sunsets. There's an indoor and outdoor pool and whirlpool, which were never extremely crowded. Staff does an excellent job keeping the rooms clean. The only complaint is that the kitchens are incredibly small (but fully stocked with everything you need to cook), as are the bedrooms. The kitchen serves its purpose though, and many vacationers eat most meals out. Grills are outside room areas and are good to use if you find the kitchen too small. The lobby has a nice selection of books to read, games to play and a computer for Internet access.

  • Liked — Rooms are kept very clean by the staff
  • Disliked — Small kitchen and bedrooms

My husband and I needed to getaway and relax for our 5th Wedding Anniversary. I found The Landing Resort on the internet. Based on the 3 night special, and the location we decided to stay here. Everything worked out great. Room and main areas were very clean. We had a King Bed loft. There was a nice sitting area with TV, and patio. There was also a kitchen area with a microwave, stove and refridgerator. Great convenience. There is also a market right across the street, so you could buy food and prepare in your loft, if you would like.

A little dated, but nothing too bad. The staff was very friendly. The resort was very quiet, since this is not the busy time for door county. We enjoyed our stay. The indoor pool and waterpool seemed to be clean, though we did not use them. The location was a big plus, since we could easily travel up or down 42.

Great value! Great resort!

If you want to get any sleep, stay away from Saturday night stays at the Landing. Staff confirmed they've had lots of disturbances on weekends and I personally experienced fighting (domestic disturbance) in the hall outside my room and other rooms overnight making it virtually impossible to sleep. The Landing's response to my complaint was the equivalent of me being a whiner about it and they promised, in writing, some compensation for the trouble but did not give me anything.

My wife and I stayed here with our two year old for two nights in October. After reading other comments on the size of their bedrooms I called ahead to make sure there was a TV in each room (which there was). We stayed in a Spinnaker room which had a very small bedroom, but a great kitchen and livingroom (enough room for the pack and play).

The room seemed a little dated, but it was clean and quiet. The hotel's setting is great - well off highway 42 and truly within walking distance of shopping. The indoor pool is on the small side, but enogh for a quick dip. Internet access in the lobby was a nice touch as were the ample towels outside the pool area.

We probably won't return to Door County for at least another year, but when we do we will stay at the Landing!

  • Liked — The wooded setting and access to Egg Harbor
  • Disliked — The size of the bedroom.
