“One of the two best Mexican restaurants in town.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2013

Since the owners are from Ixtapa, on the west coast of Mexico near Acapulco, the forte of this restaurant is seafood. However, their ceviche, though good, is not the best in town. My wife and I come here every New Year's Eve, and always enjoy the food. If you are expecting the usual TexMex food, this is not like that. Also, the prices, though fair, are more like a supper club or fine restaurant than a taqueria. Personally, I love it.

“Great Margaritas and Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013

Manny's has a large selection of margaritas. The food, service, and ambience are all exceptional. The Tacos Del Mar and Queso Dip are worth a trip.

“Best seafood north of the Baja”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

If you come to Eau Claire, and love sea food, go to Manny's. There is also another location in La Crosse, WI. It is a fun atmosphere, with beautiful surroundings. The food is tasty and the presentation always great. They heat the chips and the salsa is perfect. The guacamole is always fresh. I have never had a bad meal there, dinner or lunch. Prices are very reasonable and entrees are big enough to split. Seafood is their specialty, but they have steak as well. In the summer the patio is open and the music and mood is great for a lunch or a romantic dinner.

“The year ended with a bad meal”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

Six of us visited Manny's on New Years Eve. It was crowded, but no more than I would have expected on that night. We had a reservation and got seated right away. That was the only thing that went right.
I noticed that the prices were quite high. This is not a high-income area, and there are other good Mexican restaurants in town that serve excellent food at lower prices. Drinks were especially expensive. The waiter took our orders and brought drinks. Then we waited. And waited. He came back several times asking if we wanted more drinks. Clearly, they wanted to sell us all the drinks they could since they made a lot of money on them. We weren't drinking much, so we waited. And waited. The waiter came back a couple times and apologized for the slow service. He said things were "hectic." It didn't appear that way to us. The crowd was actually thinning out; many tables were empty. Can I get you more drinks?
After 70 minutes he came back and gave us the thumbs up. "Your order is ready; it will be right out." So we waited. And waited. Twenty minutes later he showed up with a couple of the orders, which were wrong. By the time he got everyone served, we had been waiting for over an hour and a half. Most of the food was cold. Rice was undercooked. Everything tasted very bland. I made the comment that Norwegian food had more spice to it. While we were eating, a patron at another table was leaving. He told us that we had been there so long, he didn't know if we had ordered dinner or breakfast. So we waited forever for expensive food that was cold, tasteless, and not properly cooked.
We all agreed that none of us would be going back there ever again. Happy New Year.

“Great food”

Service can be incosistent, but the food is well worth the extra wait. Great, fresh Mexican cuisine including many seafood options.
