“Eagle Waters GETS IT- Northwoods Detail”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2012

This resort has it all. Condo units that are large with great kitchen space/tables for families. A beautiful Northwoods bar and restaurant. Located on Eagle Lake, part of the Eagle River Chain of Lakes that provides great fishing and wonderful boating. Located on the snowmobile trail.

Most impressive is the owner's attention to detail. In the winter you'll find an ice rink outside the lodge, and inside a massive Northwoods pine fully decorated, along with a beautiful train set. In the summer, live music and an outdoor bar- even with swing seats.

Can't go wrong here.

Room Tip: There are rooms in the condo building and also cabins available for rent.

The resort is clean and well laid out. The lake and setting are beautiful. Nice pool, huge dock, game room, tennis court, decent restaurant, nice coffee bar/ice cream shop. Service was helpful and friendly when you wanted it and self service if you didn't. If they could add a beach this would have everything. What makes this good is also it's drawback. This is big for a Northwoods resort and if you are looking for rustic seclusion you won't find it's here. The lake is big and is best enjoyed with a boat. There are several marinas to rent from. The resort's pricing is a bit high but not exceptionally so. Good location for a family vacation or lodging for a fishing trip.

Room Tip: The lodge is high end for the Northwoods. The cabins are well appointed.

We joined up with some friends here, and they had rented a 2-bedroom loft unit. It worked perfectly for two couples and their two adult children. The kids had the hotel-type room with two beds, one couple was in the master suite and one couple in the loft. The rooms were very well appointed and clean. Beds were very comfortable. We were on the 3rd floor and had a nice view of the lake. There is no beach really, and you have to take steps down to the water, but not very many. And since we have friend who has a home on one of the lakes in the 28-lake chain, we went to his place when we wanted to "beach it" and have lake time. We ate at the restaurant once and it was good. Most of the people in my group had the pan-fried walleye and they said it was fabulous. I made a bad personal choice and ordered the grouper. I should know to stick with local fish, which grouper isn't obviously. The kitchen in this unit was sort of small, but it served our purpose and had everything we needed.

The room/condo was top notch with luxury linens and first class amenities. The truly memorable part of the experience was the attentiveness of the staff. I have never encountered a more service-oriented group in the many hotels I have visited. I will always return to Eagle Waters when I come to the North Woods!

Room Tip: September is just as nice as June!!!
