“Another fun Easter at Lake Lawn”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2012

We spent another Easter weekend at Lake Lawn Resort and had a good time. This place is great for family gatherings and is perfect for kids. The buildings form a huge circular campus connected by indoor walkways, and the kids just love the freedom of exploring.

We did the Easter brunch and it was extensive. My only complaint is that beverages were not included in the price and it was not stated when we ordered. Next time we may skip brunch and just eat in the Lookout Bar.

Room Tip: Ask for lake view..

I have stayed here probably 40 times in the last 10 years. It was a sad day when it closed. We have stayed twice already this year, and time to rethink things. This has everything from 5 star traits to 1 star.

The rooms have a thermostat, so no fussing with a wall unit. In room coffee, whirl pool bath, some rooms have a fire place, an upstairs, the place is wonderful.

There is a however. For some reason (recently), they decided to put vinyl layered mattress pads, and that just interferes with my sleep. Vinyl doesn't breathe!!! My only answer is to take the mattress pad off, and that's what I will do in the future. And this time there was black mold in the shower walls. I love the place, but this is giving me a reason to explore other properties. Hopefully they will remove the vinyl and clean a little better and I will be there for many years to come.

We have 4 kids and got the loft queen room. Plenty of space to move around, pool and hot tub were spotless. Our kids had a blast and it was low key enough that the adults could relax!

Just got back from a short, but nice stay at Lake Lawn Resort. Took advantage of the Spring Break special the resort was offering. What a Great Deal! The Resort was beautiful and we had an awesome ground floor room facing the lake shore. All of the staff was really friendly. No matter where we turned, when we encountered a staff member they gave us a friendly hello.

We had last visited Lake Lawn a few years ago and were sad to hear they had closed last year, but thrilled when they reopened with new management and new lease on life. We had two meals in the Frontier Dining room and both were excellent.

The only complaint I could make was that the water in the pool was a little cold, but bearable. We've been to resorts in Wisconsin Dells that had colder water though. You adjust to it, but it would be nice just a tad warmer.

Other than that minor complaint, our visit was perfect. We will definitely be back. Looking forward to the other improvements that the current owners have in mind. We did notice that Woodlawn building was completely gutted on this visit and people were working on it. Looking forward to seeing how they renovate that building and it they will keep the indoor pool, etc.

My family spent three nights in a loft room at Lake Lawn Resort over spring break 2012. The loft room was awesome, they got all the details right: nice tile in bathroom and good shower, good pillows and linens, comfy chair and couch, bunkbeds for the kids, flat screen TVs, microwave, minifridge, faux fireplace, balcony with rocking chairs. The staff was excellent; very friendly and efficient. The food was better than average. On site, they also have a game room, a kids' zone, outdoor pool, and pub, none of which we used. We did use the indoor pool, which was very nice, but the water was too cold. They had a staff person at the pool every time we were there, which I like. Excellent place.

This is the second time I've been here during the winter. We love the the cabin-feel of the rooms, the fact that it's quiet and right on the lake and that we had a fireplace in our room (loft king). The loft king rooms have 2 full bathrooms, a king downstairs, 2 twins upstairs, a fireplace, a balcony (with rocking chairs!), mini fridge and microwave. They are super spacious, and always on the second floor.

Since this property has gone through a change of ownership (now locally owned in a consortium, I believe), it's improved dramatically in service. I never encounted anything but helpful, friendly staff. They have a beautiful golf course that I haven't used yet and an unmatched view of the lake. The sprawling lawn facing the lake it a wide-open play ground. Kids will love it. They also have an indoor pool and and outdoor pool (both with hot tubs). We've only used the indoor pool and hot tub which are nice and clean. Towels are on the small side, bring your own if you are more comfortable.

The deli is currently closed but we did eat at the restaurant. It has beautiful views but the food it a litle overpriced. The best thing they've done is the Groupon with a $50 dinig credit! It helps offset things a little if you don't want to leave the resort to eat. However, if you do, there is no shortage of options. There's several restaurants down the road. Lake Geneva is about a 15 minute ride down I-50.

One other con of note...while we love the rooms, in general and they are mostly newly renovated, some of the mattresses still need to be replaced. The last time we stayed it was fine, but this room's mattress was super soft and gave us some back issues the next day. So, I hope bedding is on the schedule to get replaced.

We are looking forward to a summer stay this year!

Room Tip: If you can get a lake view room, it's worth the extra $$! The loft rooms are great for families...

My husband and used to stay at Lake Lawn Lodge in the 80s, but we sadly saw the place decline. We stopped by the resort last year because we had heard it had new ownership. We were pleasantly surprised by the improvements that had been made. The new owners had updated the environs without losing the charm of the original resort. New carpeting, room remodeling, and beautiful new outdoor patios were just some of the improvements made. When our son came to visit us last week, we decided to book a two night stay at Lake Lawn, and we were not disappointed! Great prices, great golf, and great service. We will return!
