“Good Resort to experience a nice and happy vacation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013

Very Good Resort to enjoy the nature. Good service by the Owner & Other staffs. Warm welcome and good service by the staffs. Healthy and Delicious food. Our 4 year old kid enjoy the place very well - Both nature, birds sound & Pool. The Rooms were clean and spacious. The cab driver arranged by them for pickup, drop and sight seeing by the owner was also a very kind person with sweet words and good service. As a whole its a very nice experince to stay in this resort and enjoy the climate and nature of kerala.

It was meant to be a weekend getaway from the city's stressful monotonous life and after much painstaking research I shortlisted this place. I was hoping to treat my better half to a wonderful birthday surprise, who, by the way, had know idea, where we were heading to. I contacted Arun the property owner and requested him a pick up from Calicut airport and requested him to keep a cake ready on our arrival... Shibu, our driver, was extremely friendly and, despite language barrier, showed us the highlights of Kalpetta. The 3-hour journey, from the airport to the property, was very refreshing. We passed through quaint little towns, misty mountains, acres of tea plantation before finally arriving at Coffee County, nestled in 80 acres of coffee plantation. It was paradise. No buzzing of traffic or people..just the sound of birds and noise of 'chiveed' or cicada in the air.. Of the four cottages, 1 and 2 have plunge pools. The rooms are spacious. The bathrooms were clean..(btw ill-maintained bathrooms are a nightmare for women travellers) . The glass panes offer a splendid view of the greenery and all rooms have good views. As it was raining, the temperature was pleasant, not too cold. The food is not too fancy, it has an home-cooked appeal. I loved the evening snacks and tidbits. Day 2: we went on a beautiful 5 km walk to Kanthanpara waterfall and back, walking on roads winding around tea plantations.. On the last day, I even requested for kappa meen curry, which they prepared obligingly. We stayed for three nights, our flight was at morning 6 from Calicut, so we went to bed early and requested the staff to prepare sandwiches for the journey, which they did. Shibu drove us to the airport at 1:30 in the night. I came here with few expectations, all I was hoping for was a hospitable stay and good food. And I got that and more...definitely revisiting the place soon...

Room Tip: Well, the rooms with plunge pools are much spacious and more room to move around. But one cannot use...

We wanted a tranquil and serene stay and as usual i did my research on good hotels and we contacted Mr arun over phone, booked the place + the complementary breakfast, snacks n dinner plan ,we travelled there by car , once we reached the medical college campus we gave him a call and somebody came to escort us to the resort...it was almost dark wen we reached so we couldnt observe the senery but the strong coffee and tea aroma were marked all over the place, we parked our car inside the resort and we had to do a little bit trek to reach our designated tree house model cottage: the room and the bathroom were decent, although the wooden floors were little creaky. We made the mistake of opening the balcony door when the lights inside were on so we had to face a lot of insects, its d same anywhere in wayanad but we had a good nights sleep, the weather was cool. we woke up early next day,the misty morning view amidst thousands of coffee plants was breathtaking and awesome, later that day, we went for sightseeing after breakfast, returned by night ,we felt the dinner was good and homely. and we felt happy bcoz we wanted a peaceful silent vacation with average food and decent budget , i wouldnt recommend this place for people who r expecting 5 star services this is more like a homestay than a resort and again little bit trek is involved evreywhere in wayanad, so be prepared.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights.Based on trip advisor reviews, we have chosen this resort. Ambience was just wow. We could hear only birds/insects sounds. That kind of place!!!!
Food was ok as they have same kind of menu.Quantity that they serve should be increased.Cleanliness should be badly improved. We should call them and ask them to clean room.Room was not cleaned properly as we could see dust in the shelves/glass doors. We were provided torned towels and pillow covers. The duvet seemed to be not washed well.Atleast they should provide room service for dinner , as it seemed risky to walk through the plantations and reach restaurant in night. Its a budget kind of resort. The resort location is far from the main town and resort path from main road was so crooked, So the auto/cab charges high. Tariff is at higher end considering the above points.Ignoring this facts, we enjoyed the wayanad trip as a couple.

We went to this resort as a group of 14 people (11 adults, a teenager, and two children). Four of the adults were over 70. We occupied all four cottages. Sadly, the resort is not designed for seniors ... you need to go up steps to get to the rooms, some of the railings shake, and there are no railings in many places.

The rooms have great views, but the bathrooms are not well designed, lack basic shelf space for soaps, toiletries, etc. Weighing the view against the bathrooms, the room rating dropped to "average". It took time to provide extra bedding even though our needs were made clear when we made the booking.

Finding our way there was tricky ... the GPS directions we used pointed to a road that was closed (under construction). Getting new directions proved tricky ... the Samsung Galaxy s2 & Tab both lost signal. We called Arun and got directions to a rendezvous in Meppadi, from where his driver's jeep led our convoy. There are no signposts pointing to the resort.

When we got there, the splash pools were empty and dirty, they cleaned up one and filled it with water for the children, who enjoyed splashing in it. The kitchen got overwhelmed by our simple demands for milk and coffee. We rated Room Service as poor because after they told her they don't know how to make filter coffee, my wife went to the kitchen to make the filter coffee herself.

That night there was a thunderstorm and the resort had a power outage. Dinner got accelerated to avoid draining the battery-run backup lights, and maybe as a result we never got to have the "great food" experience that others report here. For most of us, the food was too spicy.

We're rating sleep quality as "average" because some of us were haunted by mosquitoes because the repellents stopped working when the power died at night. I slept like a log, tired by 9.5 hours of driving from Bangalore etc. Next morning the power was still out, so Arun (the owner/manager) suggested we find a different resort, which we did. We left after lunch, and Arun & his staff kindly escorted us to our next resort in their jeep.

Room Tip: The two lower rooms have a splash pool each, and fewer steps to climb. The two lower rooms have bet...

Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to go and just relax, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul.Nature is the art of God,and this will be proved when you will step into this beautiful resort in the midst of Tea & Cardamom Plantation.

I and my Husband were checking on many of the resorts but at last have zeroed on this resort named : Coffee County Report which is located in Kalpetta in surrounded with the greenery beds of Tea Plantation .What a place to be in ...Wow . I was totally satisfied with the decision we took to stay in this wonderful place of serenity.

We have booked in prior for a Plantation Cottage with Plunge Pool which you can also name it as Mini Pool ,thats the Cottage no.2. Very Neat room,Bed and washroom. An extra mattress was also there to accomodate more than 2 people. When we entered the Cottage we got the beautiful smell of Lemon Grass it was just awesome.

We have been given a Welcome Drink : Cucumber Juice which i must agree that it was so good that my husband also drank it coz he never drinks any juice and cucumber is like far far away from his eating list. As our Package was a 2 Nights 3 Days stay which include Breakfast Morning and evening Tea and Dinner . But on Arrival when requested ,we were served a very nice Lunch. Then Followed by Evening Tea with Pakoras. We were so tired that on reaching our cottage , we both were completly sloshed sleeping. Next morning we had booked one auto with the help of Arun and Ramesh and went to see the Pookot Lake and the View Point and the most Imp. part of any Lady's trip is Shopping . Have been to Shop Called "SINDUR" where ypu get varieties of Kerela Sarees. Picked Few and had lunch in Woodland which is nearby to the shop.Very Imp thing while choosing any meal outside is Use of coconut oil and the Rice.We had Basmati replacing the usual kerela rice for the meal.

While coming back to the resort and picked Couple of drinks on the way . Not to forget there will be huge rush in the Wine Shops as the workers get their wages on saturdays. We enjoyed the drinks watching the Peak from our Balcony and also the Jungle DJ's music .

One thing i would like to mention about the service in the restaurent is just awesome. You would not find that kind of service even in a good reputed restaurent in the city . People present the dishes in Terra Cota Pots and they present it so simple and beautifually that you will just love and enjoy each and every meal. With every BF you will get one Juice and with every Dinner one soup. The Perfect Blend of all Spices you will get to taste it in the meals.

Overall our experience was just awesome .I would strongly recomment this place to each and everyone visiting Wayanad.

Those who cannot travel via ghats should avoid the Bandipur, Mudumulai,Kalpetta road and can take instruction from Arun about the routes direction .

Room Tip: Cottage 1&2 is preferred.

We visited this nice resort in May 2013 and stayed in tree type model cottage 4. The scenery on the way to this resort is beautiful.Food was tasty and the service is good. Would recommend every one to go this nice place.

Room Tip: All the rooms have great views. But if you specifically wants a room with a plunge pool, you can go...
