“Perfect spot for a short stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2013

We stayed here for a couple of nights when we came into town for the Leinie's tour and just to get away from Minneapolis for the weekend.

We chose Glen Loch Inn due to its walkability to the brewery, which is just a mile to the south, and we were spot on. It's also conveniently located near a great dive bar and golf course/bowling alley just to the north. Regardless of the time of year or how you plan to get around, this is a perfect location to start from.

Also:

-The rooms are adequately equipped and spotlessly maintained. It has smaller bathrooms, so if you are looking for an extended stay option you might choose another hotel.

-The owner makes breakfast fresh everyday, which is so tasty and such a great start to the morning!

My husband and I, and two of our friends visited Chippewa Falls, WI this past weekend, and were pleasantly surprised by the excellence of this little motel!! First came the charm, the flowers, deck, and lobby. Then the cleanliness-----------you could tell everything was cleaned with care, and with the customer's comfort in mind. I was impressed immediately. Having our first homecooked breakfast on Saturday morning, which was PERFECT, we were also able to enjoy the charmingly decorated breakfast room. The owner is a sweetheart, and you could tell this hotel is dear to her!! The rooms aren't large, but definitely adequate. They also include a microwave and refridgerator, which is a must for us. Our stay at Glen Loch Inn truly added to our weekend of relaxation and enjoyment!! We will be back!!

The proprietor is a wealth of information about the area. We had a wonderful stay. She upgraded our room so we can be right across from our friends. The breakfast is out of this world and free. I would recommend this to anyone who is in the Chippewa Falls area.

We could not have been more surprised at this great little "throwback" of a motel! The rooms wer, of course, small but the bed was great and the place was spotless. The continental breakfast was home-made and delicicious. Do NOT avoid this little gem just because it looks like it is in a time warp!!

Ye olde roadside motel, run by a very nice woman. Nice garden and little patio to sit and watch the birds or other critters. Quiet, off the main highway, and close to parks. Nothing spectacular, but a pleasant place to stay if you are in the area or need a place during a road trip. Reasonable price and clean comfy room. Perfect for what we wanted.

TripAdvisor has a coupon up today for a free breakfast, but I think they always include breakfast. We certainly got a nice selection of fruit, cereal, juice, toast, coffee, etc. (Probably more, but now I can't remember.)

I have to laugh about the one negative experience we had: We had tried a escape a scorcher of a heat wave at home and were on our way farther north. We stopped for the night, and were relieved to be in an air conditioned room, since the outside temps were over 100. At 10 PM, it was still well over 90, and I don't think it got much below 85 all night. The AC in the room just couldn't keep up, but it was still better than my house, with no AC. So the rooms may be a bit warm when there is a record heat wave, but that's a small complaint.

We found Glen Loch to be a quiet retro 50's kind of place. The rooms were clean, quiet, well equipped with frig, coffee pot and micro. Marilyn puts on one marvelous breakfast. I]The breakfast is worth the price of the room...we'll be back next month. Connie
