this place lives up to it's name peace valley. it is a great place to unwind after a busy work life. the staff are very friendly.great pool. the food was very nice cooked to order so you had to wait awhile but that does not matter when on holiday no rush.a lot to do here if you want. great walks, the local's are very friendly.it is great for bird watching. also some wild life.not to far from the beach if you want to go for the day, staff will sort out taxi for you great value for money.there are great beaches near by. rooms are clean and nice. shopping in the near by town is okay, cheap if your are self catering, not a tourist town so you do not get ripped off for anything. it is not to far from many tourist attraction.it is in the middle of no were but if you want peace and quiet this is the place

Peace valley is a little gem. A great place to relax and unwind just peace and quiet. The restaurant served some excellent dishes. This was our first visit to South Goa, the staff were very welcoming and helped us plan some wonderful sight seeing

Room Tip: The view from our room was beautiful, over looking the pool and the hills in the distance.

This was one of the strangest and most unpleasant places I have ever been - it was like visiting a ghost town. You enter through high gates into a walled compound and end up in a weird empty town of uninhabited houses and villas that are run down and grubby and over grown... it gets stranger when you get to the hotel - which is slap bang in the middle of this ghost town and equally as eerie and empty and a bit creepy?

There were more staff than guests but this did not result in good quality service - quite the opposite. With the place being so remote you are completely trapped and miles from anywhere else which seemed to be an excuse to serve terrible food (we got sick while there) and for the staff to behave in a surly, rude manner. They did odd things like lay napkins on our lap - as if we were in a good restaurant but the napkins were dirty with food on them? The Indian food was terrible - we had a mutton curry that was no meat only bones and tasteless, even though the menu said no bones and they served us old stale rice that was cold and had to be sent back. Having had bad indian dishes - we tried the non indian food which was even worse - the mashed potatoes were actually grey?

The rooms are OK and you could see what they were trying to do but they really are doing it very very badly. It is not a great location - a long long way from the beaches (expect at least an hours drive) and not in the nicest of Goa's countryside areas with nothing for miles so you will need to enjoy long taxi rides if you want to do or see anything. Saying that the pool is OK but this does not make up for the other short comings of this place.

I wish I could recommend this hotel - it is quiet, kept clean and tidy, has a nice pool and offers horse riding. However too many important things really let this place down. Firstly, the food is dire. Rice was served cold from a big buffet dish with every meal, the fish was dry and rubbery. One day we ordered lunch and by the time my wife's food had arrived I had finished my entire plate. Bizarre seeing as there were only four of us in the restaurant! I'd hate to eat there when they're busy. We also suffered from a stomach bug or food poisoning a few days after we'd arrived (the hotel is literally in the middle of nowhere so all of our meals were taken at the hotel restaurant).

What really made our stay truly awful was the behaviour of the manager and his staff when we came to leave. They claimed the credit card machine was broken, and could only take cash. We were due to leave the hotel at 3.30am, came out of our suite and found that the manager had stationed three "security" staff outside our door. They then forced us to drive to the nearby town and take cash out of an ATM to cover the room service bill that they couldn't take a card payment for. The card machine didn't work, but strangely the internet and telephone lines still did...

My wife and I left this hotel feeling completely dejected, slightly terrified for our safety and angry at the manager who felt this was an appropriate way to treat their guests. Given the rest of the bad reviews here you would think that they would make more of an effort.

Just got back from Peace Valley and cannot understand the negative reviews!

Staff excellent service excellent and it doe what it says on the tin PEACE VALLEY!!
If you want the agro of busy beaches hawkers etc then go to the places that have these.

IF YOU WANT A QUIET BASE TO TRAVEL FROM THEN THIS IS PERFECT.

Yes there are a few odd tiles loose etc, but which place does not??

Stayed at the Atlantis Palm and it too had things that you could pick on.

The choice of hotel was my own based on the brand value and my past experience with the hotels under this brand.
The hotel is away from the main hubs and gets isolated in the evenings fot travell.
Hotel sorroroundings are peaceful and away from the usual hustle/noise of tourist resort and provide good rest.
Hotel site is maintained well . Could not interact much with hotel senior mamangement for feedback

Room Tip: Take an upper room near to the swimming pool
