What a hidden gem in Beloit. The Iron Works theme works. Wonderful sophisticated decor. Right on the Rock River. Great views. Very please with the price point. Aveda products in the room. Very nice restaurant attached although they need better rum.

This hotel has gone through a renovation-actually third floor is still in process. The decor is not nearly as attractive and the front desk staff not as warm and welcoming. It is unfortunate that they decided to go for a kind of industrial "chic". It is not attractive and feels a unfinished. To their credit though, the cleaning staff is fabulous.

Room Tip: Room in the back overlooking the river are quieter and have a nicer view.

Have stayed at this hotel many times and always had a great experience. This time we stayed in a newly renovated king suite. I really missed the kitchen and the separate bedroom and living room design. The newly designed bathroom is HUGE, but not easy to use - no hooks for towels or bathrobes and the single bowl sink is tiny . The glass shower wall makes it impossible for someone to sleep while their roommate uses the bathroom, such a bad design! I will always stay at this hotel, but will ask for the old rooms until I have to book into one of the new ones. Oh, and I also wish they still had their business center. Had to bother front desk to print things out for me. Didn't eat breakfast there, costs $10.00 per person now. The good news is that for the most part the staff is still helpful and friendly. The guy who checked us in at 9 p.m. was not too thrilled to be doing so. Wasn't too sure what was up with that. But for the rest of the stay the staff was great. Housekeeping continues to do a super job. We stayed on 2nd floor - right over party room. Really loud party Saturday night, but over by 10:00 p.m. - if that's an issue, be sure to ask for upper floors. Just got a "thanks for staying with us" note, no survey, so I'm glad to see management checks this site. Please reinstall the business center, redesign to-be-built bathrooms - no glass shower wall, bigger sink, install hooks. Actually, if you can keep one river view king suite with a kitchen and separate bedroom and living room for me, I 'd really appreciate it.

Room Tip: Ask for a river view room - upper floor

We are currently in the process of installing robe hooks in all of our newly renovated suites and providing a printing station to be made available in the lobby. Please feel free to contact me prior to your next visit and I will be happy to review any additional changes we make.

This is a great hotel for the price. It is newly renovated and the decor reflects the hotel name with lots of grey and black with iron and brick. Well built. The black leather sleeper sofa and king bed are very cozy. We stayed in a king suite with a river view. Across the Rock River is probably an old iron works plant, and they have painted murals on it. A very warm, 2-sided fireplace separates the sleeping space and the couch space. The steak restaurant downstairs perfectly complements the hotel. The lobby is impressive and the staff friendly. This hotel is a rarity. We stumbled into it, and decided to stay here instead of Milwaukee.

This recently remodeled hotel is very nice. The lobby has very interesting with lots of old charm, wood sliding door, and rustic metal features.
Our room started with iron room numbers leading to a wonderfully redesigned updated style. Everything from the river view to the beautiful 2-side fireplace. It is worth the extra few bucks for this upgrade.
The amenities are 1st class including the linens, coffee, and toiletries.
We felt like we were at an 4-star hotel in an old mining town.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2013

We recently stayed at the Ironworks Hotel/Beloit Inn (It was during our stay that the sign out front changed). We were traveling to share Thanksgiving with extended family in the area, and wanted to be closed enough for our daughter, a junior at Beloit College to be able to walk over when it was time to go, or to be able to stop by to chat. The guests included myself, my husband, and his 93 year old mother. This hotel not only suited our 93 year old traveling companion, but my husband and I as well. She loved the friendly staff (even if she found the 9:00 am ending of the breakfast a bit early), and we appreciated the updated decor in the lobby and restaurant. The noise from the renovation was extremely quiet, and never started early in the morning (at least the louder parts didn't) Normally, our older traveling companion would have commented about unnecessary noise, but she never mentioned it. The two rooms of our suite were spacious, and the WiFi worked really well, which I couldn't say for the older hotel we stayed at in Chicago, which was quite a bit more expensive. I would definitely stay at The Ironworks Hotel again.

Room Tip: We really loved the view of the river from our room.
