“Delightful place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2009

My wife and I stayed here in order to check out Circus World and the Dells. We were assigned the Gone Fishin' room, and it fit the homey, relaxed, but fully maintained feel of the place. The hosts were very pleasant and helpful with Dells and Circus World advice. Btw, the circus stuff was far more interesting and fun than we had expected. The restored wagons are fabulous and the show was really entertaining - definitely recommended.

Loved our stay here. Lots of brochures and themed rooms. Small but very clean and friendly staff. Will definitely return. Very close to state park and Baraboo but in the country.

Our overnight at Willowood Inn was wonderful from start to finish. The place is fairly easy to find, even when arriving after dark. It seems to be a family-run resort and the owners put a great deal of loving care into the property. Both the exterior and interior are charming. our room was decorated in a lighthouse motif and had an adjoining deck.

This is a great place for nature lovers. The bird life was outstanding and we heard coyotes in the night. Plenty of outdoor seating is scattered around the hotel, making it a great place to hang out in the outdoors. This is not a big city hotel, but a peaceful place for an overnight when your goal is the nearby Devil's Lake state park.

Coffee was provided in the morning and checkout was by 11 a.m. Next time we will stay longer. This was much better than the hotel we stayed in the next night. Willowood Inn is a good choice. Highly recommend.

The price was right. The room was clean and the rooms all had a theme to their decoration. The staff was like family. I WILL STAY THERE AGAIN.

I orginally found this online and thought the prices were too good to be true. We stayed 2 nights and wanted to see if it would work for a summer family trip. It was very clean and quiet. The owners are very resourceful on what to do and see. There is even a book in the lobby of "things to do when it is raining". We did not have any snow, but summer will be a perfect time to enjoy all the local outdoor activites. There is an inground pool, which was closed for the winter. There is fresh coffee every morning and each room has a TV and mini-fridge. There is a microwave in the lobby to use. There is a nice fire-pit in the "big backyard" which was lit for us. Devil's Lake State Park is one mile from here and the small downtown is 4 miles with lots of eating and shopping choices. We did not even have to go near the "waterpark" scene.

  • Liked — Cost
  • Disliked — nothing.
  • Tips/Secrets — Book early for summer. Excellent choice when the snow flies for skiing.

Quiet, clean, cozy rooms. Friendly service. Fabulous view of the Baraboo Bluffs. Great location close to Devil's Lake State park and the Wisconsin Dells.

Our stay at Willowood was great. The owners go out of their way to create a relaxing atmosphere. They have a heated pool, movies to rent, a bonfire every night, coffee and tea every morning, free use of their ice machine to fill ice chests. The owners have pre printed maps to places of local interest, a notebook with menus to local restaurants and even ideas for things to do when it's raining. Every room has a different decor. The location is very close to Devil's Lake, but it's also close to town. We already have plans to go back next year.
