“Nothing stands out except abundance”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2012 via mobile

Very typical buffet of abundant average food that sits on a steam tray too long. Nice salad offerings but other vegetables were absent Tired place overall that might be ok for a am alternative to a cookout after camping at nearby Devil's Lake State park.

“Great Place to Visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2012

This is a down home comfortable kind of place you hope will always be there when you come back. We happened on this restaurant while visiting Devils lake Park Wi. It is the restaurant that as soon as you walk in the friendliness and service makes you feel right at home. My spouse had the fried chicken and I had liver and onions (hard to find anymore), Great tasting fresh with salad bar and a dessert bar best value of the trip.

“Good Food and Plenty of It!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2011

Excellent service, down home cooking. No it is not fancy, but the food was hot and plentiful. Excellent desserts. Would definitely go again!

“Won't go again”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2010

Food is ordinary, and less tasty than that. Buffet style chicken and such.

Got a bar. Stocked with locals, but not even many of them.

If your mom was a bad cook, you might like it.

“Good restaurant near Devil's Lake WI”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2010

Stopped in for a Saturday lunch with 3 adults and 2 kids. 3 adults ordered the buffet and the kids split a meal. The food was pretty average, but had a comforting 'down home' flavor to it. The variety was all American food, but quantities were sufficient. The kids’ food was also of the same quality. We all agreed that the experience of the restaurant had the feel of going to a great aunt's house for a meal. There was a desert table full of handmade deserts (with no calorie count attached) that we all had a very difficult time leaving alone. The restaurant is in a house that was built in 1928 which sets the atmosphere. The value was really good. With tip and tax the bill was $35 for 5 people. We aren't planning a trip back to visit the restaurant specifically, but if we are nearby and hungry we wouldn't have a problem stopping again since it was cheaper and healthier then McDonalds.
