If you're looking for a good time , I highly recommend Wheeling Island. They have the best slot games, the food is first rate, and the people that work there are among the most friendly, and will go out of their way to help you. My husband and I go there at least 4 or 5 times a month.

On our way home from Parkersburg, my travelling companions and I decided to take a detour to Wheeling and have some fun at Wheeling Island. I never knew it was there. We were actually looking for Mountaneer but found Wheeling Island.

It is a huge casino and greyhound racetrack. They had a band playing outside, a band and drawings at the race track. ShaNaNa was playing in the theatre. We spent a few hours playing in the casino, which has all kinds of slots and video gambling games but no tables. Then we went to the dog races. Of course, you could bet the dogs but also the horses at other tracks around the country.

We decided to enjoy a dinner in the Terrace Room while betting the greyhounds. We opted for the all you can eat special since it cost the same as the menu items. Food was excellent, but our waitress, Stacey, was awful. She was slow, rude and disappeared for long periods of time. But the food was great-especially the pork chops.

I would recommend Wheeling Island for some fun entertainment. I would also recommend the Terrace Room for dinner but make sure you dont' sit in Stacey's section. Everyone else there was very nice and helpful. Stacy just needs and attitude adjustment or a new job.
