“Great food for a little shop!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

The food is very good and the prices cannot be beat!
The service is quick and the food is very good. This is not a fancy place but a GREAT little greasy spoon type place.

“Hot breakfast served up right”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2014

There aren't many places in downtown Wheeling that serve a decent breakfast; Hall of Fame is the one that I found. I would actually rate this as "Good" as it's a notch above "Average" and not really "Very Good." Recently had a decent plate of scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast (with coffee, the bill was $7.42). The food was ok, but my rating has more to do with the atmosphere of this place. This is the quintessential American neighborhood corner cafe. Nothing fancy here; just simple, honest cooking. Very small dining area; primarily counter service (approximately 8 seats) and one large round table that seats approximately 6. Lunch is served here as well. Located a block north of the Center Market. Travelers looking for a no frills, down to earth cafe while in Wheeling might find this place to have the "right stuff."

“"Best burger in town" is right!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

Just up the street from The Soup Shack (home of an amazing veggie burger) is the Hall of Fame Cafe, where you can get the best cheeseburger you'll find in Wheeling. I've been coming here for years and the quality is always the same. Huge, juicy patties piled high with toppings. The fries are hit and miss, but when they're good, they're unusually puffy. I have also heard good things about their breakfast menu but I've never tried it. I've seen a couple people complain about the atmosphere but that's one of my favorite things about the place. I particularly enjoy eating at the counter and watching traffic go by. Yes, you do have to walk through the kitchen to get to the larger dining room, but it's one of the things that makes the place unique. One criticism - like most places in Wheeling, I wish they kept longer hours.

“Will try again. Not too impressed.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

This is a little diner type restaurant. Made the mistake of sitting at the counter. Counter was dirty, the cappacino machine was in front of us, and was filthy. Burger was good, but the salad wasn't anything to brag about. Iceberg lettuce on a plate with a few tiny tomatoes, a few pieces of cucumber, and microwaved chicken (that's what it looked like). Perhaps we should have eaten in the dining room, but we didn't know there WAS a dining room. I've since heard they are known for their soups. Will give it another try at some point.
