“romance or family trip...you pick”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2013

my husband and i decided to take a long weekend trip to oglebay for a nice getaway.we picked oglebay for a number of reasons. #1. it wasn't a far drive from Pittsburgh where we live # reasonable prices # the number of things to do and see there.

our pakage included the room indoor and outdoor pools, sauns, jaccuzzi, sauna, gym. it also included a buffet breakfast at the lodge, and dinner at the glass works grill.

the day we arrived, we decided to do a lot of activies. they have a zoo, mansions thjat you can tour, several gift shops, a glass works carriage house, laser light shows, trolly rides, paddle boats, fishing, mini golf. the cost is and extra $15 per person added onto your room package, and you are unlimited to the anount that you want to do. they also offer discount coup[ons for the gift shops and restaeraunts.

after we ate dinner at the glass works grill, we decided we wanted desert, but not right away. the waiter told us that they can bring our desert via room service at no extra cost, just tell them what time we wanted it delivered.

our room hadf a nice queen size bed, and a day/twin bed that canbe used as a couch. the decor was rustic and romantic, traditional with somewhat of a modern twist. each room also has a balcony or patio, wifi, and a private bathroom.

we also got a couple message at the spa that in the grounds. the spa itself offers many deals and packages for individulas, coouples and groups, and it weqs greatly enjoyed.

we enjoyed our entire weekend at oglebay, and haqve been recommending it to many family and friends.

the staff at oglebay are very friendly and helpfull, and always make you feel welcome and comfortable.

a greaqt weekend getaway for total cost of $300

“Magic. ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2013

I love Oglebay in all the seasons of the year, but winter is the absolute best. The lights are magical. It is a treasured family tradition to visit the lights at Oglebay. The shops are expensive but fun to look through. The indoor laser light show is quaint and always entertaining. Oglebay is doing Christmas right!

We love Oglebay Park! It has something for everyone and we always enjoy our visits there. We spent our honeymoon there 50 years ago. We highly recommend it to everyone!

“Lots to do”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2013

I was just driving through today and they were setting up all over for their Christmas Lights drive. It looks like it's going to be pretty cool so I'm going to have to go back and check it out some evening. I believe they recommend a $20 donation per car. I stopped by the Glass Shop and the Sweet Shop and looked around. They had some nice (albeit overpriced) gifts and souvenirs to pick up. I'm excited to go back and check out the zoo and planetarium!

“Very nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2013

Very beautiful place to visit. Views are breathtaking. Visited just before the festival of lights, so didn't get to see the lights; however, the view of fall trees and wildlife were still worth it. Would definitely recommend a visit to the park if you are in the area!
