“Wonderful B & B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

I stayed at Swan House whilst working in the local area. The hosts were wonderfully friendly and helpful and the house itself is lovely and in a beautiful setting.

The room was very clean and large with a good sized clean bathroom and a very comfy bed.

Breakfast was fabulous with lots of locally sourced good quality produce.

My only regrets are that I only stayed for one night and would love to have had breakfast outside on the terrace but for the rain. There are plenty of pubs in the area to explore as well which I will have to visit if I get the chance to return!

We spent three days with Phyllida and Victor and couldn't have asked for more attentive hosts. The room was spotless with a beautiful ensuite, and commanded a perfect view of the Yare River, complete with resident swans! The breakfasts are amazing and local eggs, fruit , bacon, sausages etc. are absolutely delicious. The location is very convenient for access to the city centre and for us, the train station. We were sorry we couldn't stay longer to sample some of the several pubs within walking distance of the B&B. We would not hesitate to recommend this lovely place.

We had a lovely and relaxing stay at Swan House. The room was very pleasant with a superb view over the river. Excellent shower. Breakfast on the balcony was special, with a good variety of locally sourced foods. Our hosts were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We will be back.

We stayed at Swan House only for one night, but it was a very special experience. The people there are so nice and obliging, we wished to stay longer. The location is quite far from the city center, we had to walk nearly an hour in one direction (even though we were young and walked quite fast). The house itself is located very nicely at a small river, it was the perfect place to relax from a stressful journey. There is only one guest room, which was lovely decorated and very clean.
Next time we will choose this nice location again.

We have a lovely time staying at the Swan House, we were made very welcome, the room was beautiful and the outlook outstanding. Close to Norwich which we enjoyed. The location was excellent as we love villages rather than big Towns or Cities to stay in.

We stayed at Swan House over the summer bank holiday weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Victor and Phyllida are the perfect hosts and nothing is too much trouble and we were made to feel so very welcome from the moment we arrived. The room is lovely and we liked how they provided little extras in the room, and that they left a jug of water and flask of milk outside the room in the evening so you could enjoy a morning cuppa! The breakfast was impeccable and there was so much choice! The full english was the best we had had in a long time! You can also sit out on the balcony for breakfast if the weather is nice and feed the swans - luckily we had chance to do both during our stay! We have already recommended Swan House to friends and family and look forward to returning again in the future.

We have never contributed to Trip Advisor before, but Swan House is "Special" and we would like to share our experience. Excellent comes to mind regarding Swan House! We stayed for 3 nights (not enough) and enjoyed excellent accommodation. (The bedroom overlooks the River Yare - a joy to wake up to. Spotlessly clean with extra "goodies"). Excellent breakfasts (so much choice! cooked to perfection and we were able to sit out on the decking to eat and enjoy the wildlife). Excellent hosts, Phyllida and Victor's attention to detail, hospitality and enthusiasm was second to none. We look forward to our return visit and would wholeheartedly recommend this "idyllic retreat". Came as strangers - left as friends
