“Yum!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2012

We stopped by this great little place while vacationing in WV.
Good sandwiches, the Ruben was JUST RIGHT!
The town is doing its best to survive in these times.

“A great little eatery for breakfast or lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2012

The Flying Pigs is conveniently located in the same block of Thomas as the Purple Fiddle, and it is spacious and has an ample breakfast (anytime until closing at 2:00 most days) and lunch menu, with daily specials and real food, from breakfast burritos to homemade soups and sandwiches that are big enough to share. The homemade cornbread with kernals of corn and red peppers and onion is worth the trip alone. Service is prompt, and the place is dog-friendly. Nothing "fast-food-y" about this place except the service. Service hours change with the season, so call or check the website.

“Great, affordable breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2011

When staying in Canaan Valley, this mine and my husband's favorite breakfast place. It's very affordable and good sized portions. They serve primarily locally grown foods and are part of what appears to be an ongoing attempt to revitalize Thomas for locals and tourists alike. As for the servers not being friendly - no they're not going to ask you your life story, but they're plenty nice if you have questions about the food, recommendations, and they're on top of checking in on you. They also serve breakfast all day, which is great because we tend to sleep in while in the mountains. Definitely worth a try!

“Good food with unique flavors”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2011

Thomas is trying to become a tourist town and is doing it right though slowly. The Flying Pig is one of a couple of restaurants in town and we have stopped here several times. One waitress appears to service the entire restaurant so the service can be slow and the demeanor can be short. However, the food is very good and the chili was excellent. The decor is very appropriate for teh type of town it is in. We like this restaurant.

“Not very friendly staff. Average food.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2011

We took our large family party here for breakfast. There were only a couple of other customers. The interior is cute with the pig theme, however, it is not the cleanest place. Service was OK but the wait staff bordered on abrupt - maybe because we weren't a regular? Sweet potato pancakes & blueberry pancakes were very good. Biscuits were sliced & toasted which some in our party did not care for. Prices are reasonable.
