“A great place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

We loved this restaurant! We had a mix of appetites and palates in our group, and everyone commented that their selection was outstanding. The portions are generous without being overwhelming. The atmosphere is warm, with a real sense of the history of the area. Wish we could return soon.

“Could not believe this place was in Sutton”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013

My wife and I were in Sutton for the weekend and went here early in the day to look at the gallery of arts and crafts made by local artists, which is amazingly well priced in it's own right. While there I wandered over to restaurant side and was surprised to say the least. The place was amazing, it looked like the type of place that we would go in Pittsburgh for a nice dinner for the two of us. The ambiance is incredible, they left the best architectural elements of the old general store that once inhabited that space such as the wood floors, tin ceilings, and exposed brick walls and inserted the eclectic furnishings of a sophisticated bistro. We decided at that moment that we would return for dinner. We knew that PJ Berry's closed earlier then we would have liked (9:00 pm), so we returned at about 7:00 on that Saturday and had no problem getting a table. The place was busy, but not crowded. We were seated immediately and each ordered a craft beer from a local brewery. This was a very nice touch. When we were given our menu, we were stunned at how good the prices were. We ordered the small fried green beans as an appetizer, which was still a very large portion, as well as delicious. I ordered the rib eye and a baked potato, this also came with a house salad that was very fresh. My ribeye was cooked right and I was satisfied with it, just not one of the best steaks Ive ever had. Now here is where things get strange. My wife ordered the crab cakes. Im not lying when I say that we agreed that these were the best crab cakes we have ever had, hundreds of miles from the ocean. Overall I was very surprised with the atmosphere, food quality, and certainly the value of PJ Berry's. We had three local craft beers, appetizer, and two of the pricier entrees and were out the door for a littlwe over $50. Amazing. I would highly recommend it if youre near Sutton or Flatwoods.

“Good but slow service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

A decent place to stop if you are heading east on I79 and don't want fast food fare. Just about 3 miles or so off the interstate, so it doesn't take you too far out of your way. There is one caveat though, do not be in a hurry. It seems, or so it was when we were there, one guy does everything- waits tables takes orders, serves, buses, bar tends. It is a lot for one person to do while another able body stays at the bar and works on his laptop the entire time. Definitely an imbalance of service.
All in all the food is good and reasonably priced.

“Great restaurant in small town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

PJ Berry's is our favorite place to eat here in Sutton. Its reasonably priced, has a good selection of food (though fewer vegetarian options), and the food is delicious. Staff is friendly and attentive. Often seem to have music on the weekend. Overall the restaurant has a great atmosphere and is a great place to visit.

“Very nice place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2012

Went there on a girls'night out with friends of different generations, we all had a good time.
The place looks very nice, the food is good and the woman who waited on us was great.
There was an exhibit of paintings by a local artist in the other part of the restaurant and it gave a good atmosphere to the place.

Plus it has an old authentic advertisment painted on the side of the restaurant and I found it really cool.

If you happen to go to (or through) Sutton, WV, stop there!!
