“Such a relaxing get away”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2014

After a day on the road crossing WV mountains on scenic highways, we were ready for a rest. Called the b&b for a room, and there was one left- perfect for us/perfect price. Asked about dinner, and while always crowded, there was one table left. I asked them to save it for us.

Totally customer oriented, we were greeted upon arrival, taken to our table. The owner, Melody, came over to our table to chat with us. Our room key was brought to us and we were told that when we were ready, we would be escorted to our room, and our luggage would be cared for.

Dinner was SUPERB. We began with an aperitif, then appetizer, pallet cleaner of cucumber/marscopone/strawberry. I had the shrimp and grits-OMG- the best outside of New Orleans. Creme Brûlée for dessert. The best experience.

Our room was in the carriage house, overlooking the Elk River. It was quiet and serene.
Gorgeous property.

Breakfast was gourmet. Tim, the other owner, was. Her. We had fresh vegetable frittata, homemade salsa, potato puff, fresh fruit plate, scones and blueberry muffins. Most produce came from their farm or garden..

Definitely would return here!!!

Room Tip: I am sue any room would be superb.

We just went here to celebrate our anniversary. It was a rainy weekend which meant we didn't get to eat by the river but the house is very cute.
The food at dinner was good, but we didn't feel it was amazing as we had been told. First we were given a menu which had happy anniversary printed on it. Very sweet surprise. Te waitress acknowledged our anniversary which was very nice. Maybe it was the waitress that took away the magic though. See the next question was now many years which was fine. Then it went south. You see the tables are very close so everyone can hear. She decides the next question is "do you have kids?" This too is ok but when we replied no she then said " wow, how do you make it 11yrs without kids? Are you going to have kids? Are you planning ? Is it in the cards?" As you can imagine other tables were turning around looking and even commented after she left that it was too personal. We answered with a simple I don't know bc it was none of her business that this is something we have struggled with!
Dessert was very cute and had happy anniversary in icing on the plate. It was the best part of the meal. I had creme brûlée and my husband hazelnut chocolate cake. Yum!
When we got to our room we received a nice card for our anniversary from the owners.
We were thankful not to see the same waitress at breakfast and breakfast was VERY good!!!!

Room Tip: A house in the room may feel more like a B&B

Dear Esta,, Please accept our deepest apologies for the social blunder made by your server. We immediately met with her to explain how inappropriate her conversation was with you and your husband. She understands now and, while she is only 18 and very inexperienced in the social etiquette required for hospitality service, we feel that this experience has opened her eyes and has taught her a very important lesson. She has a good heart and loves people, so we feel she will learn and we will help her every day to become better at the social graces required. Again, we are so sorry for your experience with your server and would love the opportunity to serve you again. Thank you for your honesty and for letting us know. This gives us the opportunity to improve service. Please come back and see us (on a sunny day!) so you can enjoy the river and the fire pit after dinner. And, congratulations on your 11 year anniversary :) Sincerely, Melody & Chef Tim, your Innkeepers

.Excellent B&B with gourmet restaurant serving dinner in multiple venues. During our stay, we ate in four different main floor dining rooms, each beautifully decorated and cozy with 3-5 tables. Also available were multiple tables on the front porch/veranda and a separate building with porch view of the Elk River. The distant river sounds added to the enjoyment of our meal. The cafe offers a casual atmosphere and staff is very friendly and attentive. The food selection was fantastic; Professionally-trained chlefs create dishes for your dining delight and provide surprise additions to the meal. Breakfast is a feast. My Tuesday through Friday stay allowed for casual dining on Tappas Tuesday, with a selection of two appetizers for the meal, and Brick Oven Pizza on Thursday evening. Cafe Cimino is worth the drive from any location.

Room Tip: Main house rooms are all on the second floor. Logan Room is cozy and comfortable with a cast iron c...

We have stayed over several times and also just driven up for dinner. Tim and Melody run a first class establishment and do all that they can to make our visits the best. The house is beautiful and it's restoration is excellent.

We consider Cafe Cimino a place that is a "must return to" destination. We are lucky that it is just an hour from home.

I have lived in wv my entire life and can't believe it took me 40 years to visit this gem in the heart of WV. Five minutes off of I-79 and only an hour from charleston, it's a wonderful overnight romantic getaway. Our room (the Annabella) had a great terrace overlooking the river. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a welcoming staff, taken to our room and drink orders were taken and brought directly to our room. (Not to mention I sat on the terrace and watched the bartender pick the fresh mint from the garden for my mojito!!!!). Dinner was superb. Service was over the top. Room was impeccably clean, comfortable and welcoming and surprisingly quiet (we stayed in the main house where the dining room
and kitchen were). The bar down by the river is cozy and the drinks were excellent. Will DEFINITELY be going back.

In September of 2013 I attended a wedding of my best friends here and I just can't say enough about the wonderful setting and the positive catering attitude of the staff. I stayed for two nights and the whole thing was just wonderful. The attendees of the wedding had booked up almost the entire b&b except for a few rooms (and we soon became good friends over a bonfire and glass of wine).

The first night we were there we had the rehearsal dinner and rehearsal followed by sitting around a bonfire and enjoying good company beneath the trees listening to the stream behind the inn. A member of the staff continued to check on us and even offered to bring fixings for s'mores out! The service was hands down the best I've ever received while in WV.

The wedding was beautifully put together, the food is incredible (especially the bacon at breakfast) and the location is relaxing and far away from lights, city noises and traffic. The wedding was magical and I'll definitely be back post-wedding. It's a little pricey, but well worth it. If you need some down time and some good food and drink, come here.

Room Tip: You can't lose.

No hesitation, Cafe Cimino is worth traveling miles for. From the moment you arrive, you will love it whether your visit is for a meal or an overnight You receive a warm welcome the instant you open the door. John, Jill, Shawn or Cassie will be eager to bring you tea, wine or help with luggage. The dining experience is five-star. This place can hold its own against any place around the globe. If you are fortunate enough to spend the night, you will be offered a three course breakfast that I have none to compare. Hands down the two breakfasts I had here are by far the best I have had in my life. The beds are extremely comfortable and the rooms are very quiet. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Room Tip: The Lucia is an excellent choice.
