“Great Hotel in a very small place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

On a return trip from Florida, we stopped overnight in Summersville West Virginia. Not expecting much in such a small place, we booked the La Quinta hotel. This hotel looks almost new. It is nicely decorated , clean comfortable. Our room had a king bed with lots of AC outlets in the lamps to charge mobile devices and . quick to login problem free internet access. The complimentary breakfast is only available from 6 a.m. onward, which is likely good for most guests but we left at 5 a.m. so didn't get to take advantage of it.
We would definitely stay here again.
There is also have a new Japanese steak house called Fujiyama which has good food and is right next door

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the side away from the highway

My hubby and I were on our way to Myrtle Beach from Toronto. We decided to stop at La Quinta Inn & Suites for the night. We chose this hotel due to its proximity to the highway, restaurants and gas station.
We didn't have a reservation, but they had a room available for us and we were able to take advantage of our CAA discount. There was a fireplace in the lobby, bright lighting and colourful decor.
When we checked into our room, we noticed that the bed wasn't made up, so we were able to changes rooms, no problem. Our new room was HUGE! It featured a red wall behind our spacious king sized bed and there were photos of West Virginia on display. The desk came with a lamp, chair and mirror, and the sofa had a matching ottoman. There were lamps on the side tables on either side of the bed. There was also a huge floor to ceiling mirror that doubled as a door to the closet. The bathroom was massive with all the modern fixtures, including a Keurig machine and hairdryer. Our room also came with a fridge, microwave and flat-screen TV. Either this hotel is new or it has been recently refurbished. There is also a pool, hot-tub and gym, but we didn't have time to take advantage of these facilities. Although breakfast was included, we opted to eat offsite.
If you're in West Virginia and looking for a high-end hotel but with a low-end cost, then this is the place for you.

Heading back to Rochester, NY from Keeowee, SC. Good area to stop for the night. Several restaurants within walking distance. Hotel was clean, quiet and very reasonable. Good breakfast included. Will stop here again next year.

Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. Travelling with our dogs (two Labs) and had a great stay. Only issue (if it can be called that) is a limited area to walk the dogs, but not enough to put us off staying here again.

The room was modern and clean. The fitness and pool/Ho Tub were amazing and refreshing. Variety of food offered for breakfast like scrambled and fried eggs, sausages plus other varieties of breakfast foos that most La Qunita's do not offer.

What a difference this hotel makes, compared to the usual ugly & dirty carpeted hotels one must endure while on the road. La Quinta Sommersville proves that an inexpensive hotel can be lovely. We had 2 double queen size beds in a bright, spacious, cheerful room with modern decor, thick mattress, comfortable beds, nice furniture and a great bathroom with a Keurig coffee machine. The closet, hiding behind a huge mirror, had a brand new iron and ironing board. Breakfast was fine although Starbucks coffee here seemed a bit watery to our taste. Yoghurt & cereal could be healthier without the usual sugar & additives but there also are apples & oranges. Waffle machine resulted in freshly made, great waffles. A hotel like this makes you look forward to the long road way back home. Wished we could stay longer.

Very clean. Friendly staff. It is in a parking lot of a small mall off the highway, so not the quietest. Lots of families and kids crying late at night and early in the morning. Breakfast was chaotic. Great value for a place to stay on the road.
