Spent Christmas week at Highland House and had a really great time! My teen daughter snowboards and my husband skis and they raved about the runs, ( considering it's the east coast) short lines and friendliness of staff. Our room was cozy with a fire place and kitchenette. Nothing fancy with old furniture but clean. We knew going in that the room wasn't high end, but it served our purposes inexpensively. We ate breakfast and lunch in the room which was easy with lockers for boards/skis on the bottom floor. Staff and visitors were so friendly everywhere and we loved the bartenders at Foxfire Grille and the Sunset Cantina restaurants, and the food was excellent and no pricier than at home in Cincinnati. We loved the food at Old Spruce and its small kitchen atmosphere produced imaginative culinary combos with fresh ingredients just perfect for cold weather days. We've decided to return for Christmas next year, and perhaps turn Snowshoe into a yearly tradition!
