“Nice pool”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2013

We walked over to the pool from Leatherbark condos. There was no charge since we were staying at the condos. There is an indoor and outdoor pool and you can swim from one to the other. Inside there is a slide. The pool has a ledge all the way around it which is great when you are there with an infant and a toddler. We were concerned that because of the cool summer temps it would be too cold to swim but it absolutely wasn't. The pool was about 82 degrees and the hot tub was 102. Very pleasant. They watch the weather in a 20 mile radius so the hours aren't reliable in the summer. Be sure to call before you go.

“Lots of fun”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

There is an indoor pool play area for kids, access to the outdoor heated pools (which are still a bit cold in winter, duh), sauna, 2 hot tubs and a slide. Changing rooms and complimentary towel service. It gets crowded in the hot tubs and sometimes one is not open. Skip it if you are staying at Allegheny Springs and use your own pool...it's warmer and less crowded.

“Child Care Center with water...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2013

As we we didn't stay in a Snowshoe property with its own pool and hot tubs, Split Rock Pools was a definite in our stay. Great facility with an indoor pool with a plastic connection to yet another large outdoor pool that also hosts a cascading hot tub and an another huge hot tub. Amazing that on a 15°F day, you can go outside and swim at leisure. Tres fun.

The only downside is the kids. There is no adult hour even late at night or until closing. Kids are everywhere, splashing, running, and doing the things kids do, which is to have fun. No problem with that. But there were parents who obviously came in with their children (minors have to be supposedly accompanied, but then mom and dad left for dinner and left the kids to be monsters. If you're looking for peace and quiet in a water environment, forget it.

“Great for kids”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2012

It is right in the village and convenient to relax at the end of a skiing day. The indoor portion of the pool is very shallow, so you cannot swim there. The outdoor portion of the pool is heated but not to the point where you would be comfortable in a cold winter day, unless you swim vigorously. Nonetheless, and partly because the outside temp was not too low, my kids thoroughly enjoyed playing outside with the slide and occasionally plunging into the hot water baths. If you have kids, the split rock pool is a great added value to any visit to Snowshoe.

“Kids, Kids, Kids!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

A great place for families to have something to do for the children after the slope close - if they have enough energy left, that is! Thie is a nice little oasis from the snoe and cold - if you stay in Mountaineer Lodge, you can slmost walk there entirely indoors. Great for a change of pace, but it really is geared towards children...the outside hot tubs are more my speed!
