“Wonderful place tucked away in the mountains”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2009

Stayed here for one night on our way to Alleghany Springs in Snowshoe. Loved the place, very large rooms, but cozy. The bathroom was clean and lovely. The owner even waited up for us since we were coming in late. Very reasonably priced and beautiful location. Great place to stay if you are visiting Snowshoe and you don't want to pay Snowshoe resort prices, just 6 miles down from the slopes.

Being from Europe, we take the opportunity of our stay in the US to visit multiple places. This B&B is the third one we stayed in (for 4 days) and without any doubt the best one we visited...
Our room was really big, clean, the place is wonderful, the breakfast is really good, lots of choice every day and some days (around the WE) we had specials, cramble eggs, pancake, cottage cheese pancake.
This place is great if you want to visit the Mongongahela Forest, you are in the middle of it, so in about 2-3 hours drive you can go to almost everyplace and enjoy the nature and the Forest.
This place would be perfect as well if you want to ski, it is really close to the Snowshoe resort.
To recommend !

Lovely location, lovely Inn. Not like other B & B's I've ever been to--more like an upscale country hotel than a cozy charming B & B. Owners are cordial but not user-friendly as at most B & B's. Disappointed in their continental buffet breakfast--it's just like any hotel we've been to. Guess we need to visit on a week-end for a real breakfast. Not much going on in area in the evening, although I am sure there is more action during ski season.

WOW, we are so sorry that you seemed to have such a terrible time. It IS quiet here, but that is why most people come here. Very quiet and beautiful. People usually like to sit on our porch and watch the birds and look at the stars, go for a walk or play a game of checkers. Thursday through Sunday there is local entertainment at the place at the corner.
We are sorry you did not like our breakfast. We have home made banana bread and granola as well as big bowls of fresh fruit. Strawberries, melons, pineapple and more. I have never had any of these items as the usual hotel breakfast. Only oranges and bananas. Also we serve scrambled eggs to order with cheese and or sausage. Sometimes we make blueberry pancakes to order. I have never had these items either. Only old hard boiled eggs.
I am not sure why we were not friendly enough. I usually talk too much at breakfast. All I can say is that we are human and do have lives like everyone else My dad passed a few years ago as well as our daughter loosing 2 babies. I am not complaining, just pointing out that we work 7 days a week and we do try our best, but every day in our lives is not perfect. We apologize if you thought we did not care. We certainly do and we try so very hard to make all our guests feel welcome. Again, we are sorry you did not enjoy your stay. We take it very personal when we fail our guests.

We had a long road trip ahead of us for Christmas, and decided to stop and ski for a day in Snowshoe. The only issue was that our bulldog was traveling with us and we were having trouble finding pet friendly accommodations. Then we came across the Morning Glory website and luckily they had availability in their pet-friendly room. The owners were extremely acommodating from the minute we arrived and the room was away from the other guests in order to keep it private for both us and them. The room was very large with a nice sized bathroom. Since we had a pet, our room had a small TV and DVD player so that we could stay with the dog, but the large family room with satellite TV and movies was very nice too. The breakfasts were wonderful and were definitely enough to keep you going for most of the day. All in all, Morning Glory was a fantastic place to stay and we would definitely return.

We spent two enjoyable nights at the Morning Glory Inn B&B. Very nice. The building was built as a B&B so the room arrangement is efficient and less house like than typical. Our room, and presumably the others, was huge – king size bed, oversize sofa, dresser, three chairs, desk, several tables, and space left over. The style tends toward contemporary resort – casual and comfortable, not the more typical Victorian or antique. Unlike many B&Bs, the Morning Glory is kid friendly.

Breakfast was hearty and excellent featuring pancakes one morning and waffles the other, all served with juice, fruit, and real maple syrup. Preparation and presentation was gourmet. I know gourmet pancakes sounds like a contradiction, but it’s true. The hosts Rod and Karin are friendly and accommodating.

The Morning Glory is as nice as any B&B we have stayed at. When compared with most of the other options in this remote part of West Virginia, it is easy to see why the Morning Glory is an obvious choice.

My 76 year old mother and I stayed Wed/Thu nights as part of our annual chick-trip. We were the only guests the first night so had the facility and the house-cat to ourselves. We requested 2 beds since Mom is restless at night.

The pictures on the website, don't do the place justice! The room had two queen sized beds facing each other, nightstands and lamps on each side, a reading alcove with 2 wicker chairs and a round table, a built in desk and chair, a large dresser and a beautiful bathroom with whirlpool tub. Everything is so clean and new looking. Paneled ceiling with skylight, quilts for wall hangings. Wonderful breakfasts while watching hummingbirds at the feeder.

The lingering rain from tropical depression Fay kept us from getting out and exploring the grounds; we took advantage of the quiet to curl up and do a lot of reading.

My family stayed at the Morning Glory Inn while skiing at Snow Shoe. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We rented two rooms - one for our three children and one for us. The rooms were very spaciousl. The family room was the center of activity for the guests, and during our visit we had the pleasure of spending time with the other guests. To top it off, the breakfast was delicious! We will definitely return.
