“Fun, Interesting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

We enjoyed our visit to the Smoke Hole Caverns. A little expensive for our family of four, but worth it. The tour guide was great as was the scenery. As others stated, I would not go far out of the way to visit, but it is worth a visit if you are in the area.

“More than just a Cave Tour.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

Smoke Hole has a large variety of nice cab is for a Vacation. However we went there for 2 days of angling with their Outfitter. On the Resort property there is a well stocked flowing springs and a series of weirs. We got a real work out on our fly rod set ups. Their is also a trout pond at the North end of the property that is aerated. We did a half day up in the mountains with our guide fishing for Brook Trout. All of the staff are friendly, accommodating and helpful. The registration & gift shop are new and very spacious with a wonderful taxidermy display.

“Worth a quick stop if you're in the area”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013

The truth is probably somewhere between Mike J’s enthusiastic review and Kristi M’s pretty terrible one. We visited the cavern this weekend and found it to be an enjoyable time. The tour is not life-changing and I wouldn’t drive to Smoke Hole just to see it—but if you’re in the area… why not?

I would say that the use of the plural cavernS in their name is a bit misleading. It’s a single and somewhat short cavern that takes only about 30 minutes to tour. Although it’s a short tour, the geologic features are impressive: stalagmites & stalactites galore; several completed columns and the world’s largest ribbon stalactite.

The guide was informative and as entertaining as could be expected. Overall, it was a neat way to spend an hour, but maybe a little overpriced at $15 per person.

Someone below complains that they were not taken to the 3rd level—but they guide explained that the 3rd level has a height of only 4 feet… so we were ok with not seeing that.

visited smoke hole this past weekend. Had a wonderful tour. my Tour guide was cody and he did a great job telling about the cavern and the facts. He even pointed out the bats in the cave which made my wife happy. I liked all the items in the gift shop for sale too. I will defentily be back to go through again and stay at the cabins. My tour was great!

“You should come and visit the Caverns”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

Smoke Hole Caverns is not a long tour;however, the Caverns are beautiful! There is only one entrance into the caverns. They have one ot the largest ribbon stalactites in the world and a crystal cave coral pool. Concrete walkways and lighting.
