“Wonderful Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2013

I usually don't post reviews, but this hotel is worth writing about. My #1 criterion for a hotel is that it is clean, and the Dawson certainly is. The room and the bed were very comfortable. (Better than my own home ...LOL) The staff was so welcoming I felt like I was visiting with old friends. In additional to all that, they are very reasonable priced. I can't think of one thing that needs to be improved. I give the Dawson 5 stars!

We picked this place at random and were so pleasantly surprised. It is white-glove clean which is no longer the norm for hotels in this price-range. The staff was friendly and helpful with directions and attraction suggestions. This is a convenient location for a short, beautiful drive to Hawk's Nest State Park and the New River Gorge. There is coffee and tea serviced but no breakfast which would have been nice but is not a deal-breaker. Give the Dawson Inn a try!

Looking for a motel that offers a room that offers cleanliness? I'm always leery to stop at private label motels, but this motel offered a room that was spotless and the carpet couldn't have been any cleaner. This establishment offers great quality for the price!

Room Tip: There is a gas station next door with a small restaurant that closes by 8:00, but the food was good...

This place is not a chain, and not high class. But is is extremely clean, the staff is friendly, and the rates are outstanding. Great overnight stop for travellers. Not much around for dining, but for rest and quiet in a clean great value setting, this is the place.

This modest little two story American owned Mom & Pop hotel is a real haven. Ultra clean, comfortable, attractive, friendly, and quiet, at budget rates. Caught in unexpected snow end of March in the Mts., I needed to stop, and saw their sign at exit #150. No continental breakfast, but a nice little restaurant out front. No elevators, but wide easy steps to second floor. No strip malls, busy roads, honking or highway noise. If you like comfort, peace & quiet, with a view of the mountains, this place can't be beat. Plus it has a stuffed bear in the lobby, quaint gift shop, and a homey lobby sitting area that is just down home inviting.

Room Tip: I asked for a room with view of the mountains, no smoking. Really, any room has views of the mountai...

This little Mom & Pop hotel was a sweet find. In spite of no continental breakfast, the accommodations were spotless, comfortable, attractive, and amenable. The staff/owner was delightful, personable, and helpful. This place is away from all the hubbub of normal lodging exits, yet did have a restaurant next door. Other than that, beautiful views of the mountains, wonderful quiet, and great cable. A must at a real budget price!

Room Tip: If you don't need a lot of frills, but love peace and quiet, this place is for you. Truly restfu...

I stayed here on the way to surgery for my boyfriend, where he had to stay overnight. The staff was very accommodating and very polite. The rooms were very comfortable and the facilities were great. The downstairs area was also very lovely, especially the neat Stuffed bear! I'd suggest coming back to this place, especially since it's right between Beckley and Lewisburg.
