“Good for overnight stop”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2012

We stayed at this Holiday Inn while traveling from NC to OH. The fellow that checked us in was very nice, and very helpful. When we discovered our room was right by the elevator and ice machine, we asked about a different location and he was happy to accomodate and moved us to the end of the hall. He gave us excellent recommendations for dinner, and because we like to try local places, we went to the Omelette Stop and it was perfect (best pancakes I have had in ages!). The breakfast was very good, with a nice variety of options, and well stocked. The room was clean, and very comfortable. The only negative, and reason for the 4 stars was the fact the hallways smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. Overall however, an excellent hotel, and we would stay there again with no hesitation.

We stay at this exit 2 times a year, on the way back from our beach vacations. Anyhow, this is the first time at this place. Loved it. It isn't The Ritz but it is a nice clean place to stay after a day of driving. The pool is a decent size and clean. The following morning, I was looking in the pool area for an earing my daughter lost. I saw the detail the pool man was going through the verify PH and clean the area. Very thorough. They have a nice sitting and breakfast area but it gets VERY busy. The breakfast ladies were super nice and seemed to really enjoy their jobs. We were there March 10, 2012. There were several large sports groups and church groups. Tons of kids. They were very loud BUT the hotel staff made sure they weren't at bedtime without us having to say a word.

Room Tip: It is a VERY populated exit. Book it before you travel. It is always booked solid. Several people...

We've been staying at this Holiday Inn for the past (10) years when coming back from Myrtle Beach and it's been great. Great pool and hot tub area, and the rooms are clean. Great area for food too. It's a beacon in the night that everyone should experience.

We have just recently stayed here and found our room to be every very clean, extremely well fitted out with everything you could possibly need to make either a short or longer stay holiday/business trip comfortable. My partner had meetings to attend and so needed to use the car but the front desk staff were just fabulous and they offer a free shuttle service to drop you off and them collect you to just about anywhere that's near by. They arranged to take me to the Mall and on our way we dropped some other guests off at the train station and then collected me again at the appointed time. We had read that the rooms could be noisy(as it faces onto the main route 1, several lane highway) so we simply asked for a room away from the highway and were given block 18, well off the main road.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the highway. If taking your luggage up to a second floor would be difficul...

A great place to stay!!! Very accommodating, clean-spotless, breakfast was wonderful. Beautiful location to stop by or just stay and watch it snow! Thanks Margaret for being such a great hostess! Pet friendly and they mean it! You are missing out if you stay anywhere else in the area!

Margaret at the front desk was amazing and made sure we had everything we needed!! Thank you Margaret!!! The breakfast was very good (lots of warm and cold breakfast choices) and so convenient to be able to eat before we had to bundle up to go skiing!! The room was clean and the fridge is great to have in the room. Great location right off the interstate. The kids really enjoyed the swimming pool and hot tub after we finished skiing and the pool room was kept. We will definitely stay here again and I have already referred my friends that are thinking of going up to Winterplace!

Room Tip: We stayed on the bottom floor and it was very clean. I believe if you have a pet then they put you...
