“Boo! Hours posted online not based in reality”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2012

The website stated they are open on Sundays. We arrived on Sunday. Hours on door state not open on Sunday. This is a shame. Call ahead if you want to visit to confirm they are actually open.
The restored Princeton WV train station looked nice from the outside. A restored caboose is on property.
There really is nothing else close by. So if you are a big train person, and would really like to learn about the Norfolk Western line and its history in the area - call ahead. Big on trains, yes. Big on updated websites? No.

“Website did not have up to date hours”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2012

Looked cute. Hours on website said they were open on Sundays but when we got there the posted hours were different. Bummer.

“Fun for Kids and Adults”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2012

Everyone likes trains! This new museum in Princeton, WV, is a great place to go if you're vacationing in this part of WV. The restored Depot is very attractive and the displays are well labeled and interesting. The best part, for our family of grandparents and grandkids, was the children's play area on the second floor. (The kids would probably still be there if we hadn't made them leave and go see inside the caboose outside!) This is a very affordable price (only $21 for the ten of us) and well worth spending an hour or so looking around here. The lady in charge said it's fun when trains go by and you can see them from the depot windows, although we didn't see any trains while we were here.

“Wonderful little museum - well worth the time.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2011

My husband's the railroad buff but I also enjoyed visiting this little gem of a museum. Nice displays, laid out so they're easy to see, lots of light and room. The docent clearly knows her stuff and loves her job. Definitely a kid-friendly place.
