“Great rafting trip!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2014 via mobile

My family, ages ranging from 10 to 68, had a great time rafting on the Lower New. We did a full day which included a yummy lunch. Our guide, D-Rock, was awesome. Our trip had some great rapids, some surfing, we swam some of the rapids, and we jumped off the rock. I highly recommend rafting with ACE, a great time for people of all ages!!!

We spent 3 days at ACE last week. While the resort is quite expansice we really enjoyed that there were very limited RV spaces - made for quiet evenings sitting by the fire enjoying the mountains.

The RV spaces were all pull-through spaces and were quite large. Plenty of room for the camper, the truck, open awning, grill, picnic table, and anything else you'd need. Never felt cramped or confined. The scenerely and ambiance was exactly what mountain camping should be.

Bath house was a little "rustic" but very clean and well maintained. Doors on the toilet stalls instead of curtains would be a pleasant upgrade - fortunately being in the camper section, the bath house was never crowded.

We did the Full Day - Lower New White Water rafting trip. Guide was Karen. What an unbelievably great day. 20 or so rapids, everything from Class 2's to Class 5's. Karen made sure we had a good time, hitting each rapid precisely where we needed to in order to get the best ride. Rapid surfing was a blast!! I really can't stress enough how hard the guides work to make this day memorable and fun - while they say that we "provide the power" a quick glance back will show you how hard the guides are working to make the most of each rapid. Karen was the best, informative, funny, pleasant, patient, and a ton of fun to be around.

Lunch on the river was ridiculous - burgers, grilled tuna, veggies, pasta and potato salad, cookies, etc. I think I ate better on the river bank in the middle of no-wheresville than I do at most BBQs I attend at home.

We also did the Zip-Line tour - now this I was not looking forward to nearly as much do to a fear of heights. Admittedly the 1st step is the hardest, and by the 1/2 way point of the 1st zip-line I realized how much fun I was having. The guides Adam, Sarah, and Tara were great, ensuring our safety, reassuring me that "dying would look bad on their resume" and that I'd be fine. I was. The zip lines were fast, exhilirating, and the views were spectacular!! The bridges were a little un-nerving but a lot of fun to say the least.

We didn't do the lake, the ATVs, horseback riding, mountain biking, or any other adveantures, but will definitely be back to take advantage of everything ACE has to offer. Everyone was pleasant, knoweldgeable, friendly, and great to interact with.

My only dissapointment was that the photos / videos they take on the excursion were a little pricey - while I understand the novelty and difficulty of getting "one chance" shots - I couldn't bring myself to spend $20 for 1 picture.

We spent 3 days at the resort, with two children ages 11 and 13, and we just can't say enough wonderful things about it. From the moment we checked in, every staff member was so helpful and friendly. The whitewater rafting trip was the BEST! We spent a whole day on the lower new, with lunch grilled halfway through. Brian was our guide and he was incredible - funny, knowledgeable, and always concerned about our safety first. We spent a couple days at the lake full of inflatables, too - SO FUN!! We will be going back many more times!!

We had an awesome day at Ace! We did the Lower New and the half day resort gold pass. Our rafting guide was Kent and he was fabulous! Very knowledgeable and he made it so much fun. The facility was very clean. We were impressed with the Restrooms and shower area. We would definitely do this trip again.

I absolutely love this place! Everything about it is amazing. The staff is wonderful, facilities are great, food is delicious, & activities are a blast! The only thing bad I can say about this place is that isn't closer to home.

We just had a fabulous weekend at Ace Adventure Resort, two families with 5 children ages 6,9,10,12 and 13 along with 4 adults and everyone had a great time! When we arrived Saturday it was raining and unseasonably cool out we had reserved a raft trip on the Upper New for Sunday morning along with half day lake passes to be used Saturday afternoon when we checked in the clerk told us they would go ahead and let us use the half day Monday as well as Saturday since the weather was a little iffy, worked out great we were able to enjoy all the toys on the lake on Saturday when it wasn't very crowded at all, all 9 of us had a blast, the kids espresso ally liked the zip line, blob and bungee trampoline. We reserved two Cedar Cabins which were super cute, no running water or bathroom but they did have cold AC, a fan, comfortable beds, a small fridge and coffee maker. Common bathrooms were a short walk. If say the cabins would sleep 6 comfortably. We enjoyed the raft trip on Sunday, our group had a raft and a Duckie (inflatable kayak) two of the more daring kiddos spent the day in the Duckie while the rest of us enjoyed the larger raft, a few exciting rafts but overall a pretty easy trip, the guides were great and seemed to be really concerned that we were having a good time. We stopped a few times on the trip to swim, eat lunch and jump off a rock overall it was a great day for all. During the weekend we ate at the dinner buffet and breakfast buffet twice and were pleasantly surprised with the selection and quality of the food, kinda on the pricey side though. There wee many activities we didn't have time to do over the weekend but we look forward to returning next year.

Nine of us just returned from our Ace Adventure. Just getting there is the first adventure if you are traveling in an RV on those mountain curves. Six of us stayed in two of the cabins and 3 used the campground. Camping was spacious and enjoyable with good location near showers but they did leave something to be desired. Cabins were nice with hot tub and picnic table. A fire pit is provided at each cabin also. Our cabin had a futon which would not be comfortable for sleeping but only one used it and we placed 4 pillows and one rolled up blanket on it and made it more comfortable for one person to sleep. If you go, be sure to buy the meal package. There were incredible buffets for breakfast (lots of fruit, cereal, bacon, sausage, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, sweet rolls, etc) and the dinner buffet was incredible. One night we had barbecued fibs that were fabulous! The real reason to go there is for the adventure and those who did white water rafting and zip lining said it was incredible. Their guides made it so much fun. Our "adventurers" ranged in age from 12 to 72 and the "old guy" had a blast!! For those who cannot do the adventuress, there are sightseeing areas. We went to a winery and sightseeing. We will definitely go back.
