“Even a state park should do better.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

We spent a weekend and Twin Falls State Park where you are pretty much a captive to their restaurant for dining. Other restaurants are some miles away on WV mountain roads and if you're not familiar with them driving after dark would not be fun. The two dinners we had were pretty weak. I guessed they were pre-packaged and frozen for reheating. I had hoed the trout would bear some resemblance to that found at Tamarack in Beckley but no such luck. Tough and dry with a bland sauce. Chicken Parmesan had a poor excuse for marinara and the bed of spaghetti was tough and baked to a crisp in places. The fried shrimp was the best option but even there the cocktail sauce lacked flavoring. Breakfast was pretty good but it is hard to mess up fried eggs. The french toast was very good as were the panakes and the bacon was nicely done. The sausage patties approached leather in taste and texture. Biscuits had an off taste and the gravy had a flour taste, Perhaps you could get a late lunch/early dinner while touring the area and rely on packaged snacks with drinks for dinner.

“Suprisingly Good!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

My only experience with dining in a WV state park was at Pipestem, which was a disaster. I was afraid Twin Falls would be the same. Happily, I was wrong! We ate both supper and breakfast there and both the service and food were very good. Lovely, serene view, too.

“Great food, Great price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

We had breakfast here while staying in the lodge. I assumed that we would most likely be paying high prices for average food since it was located at a state park tucked away from other restaurants. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The prices were very reasonable. I found my meal (french toast with a side of ham) to be quite cheap compared to other places. The portions were also perfect! Overall, it was a wonderful experience!
