“A very restful night”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2009

We stopped at this hotel for the night during a long road trip. This hotel was very upscale, and priced lower than the surrounding chain hotels. The room was very large as other reviewers have described, and well lit. The bathroom was also probably the largest hotel bathroom I have ever seen! The bedding was very comfortable and clean, as was the entire room. At night, the room was very dark (no annoying lights from the hallway creeping in or through the drapes), and it was so QUIET!! I had the best nights rest in this hotel! We are planning to use this hotel in the future when we're passing through town! One downside is the gated parking garage was a bit farther of a walk than most hotels.

We spent one night at this hotel in a spacious room with a king-sized bed. The room was very clean and very comfortable. The bed was one of the most comfortable that I have slept on in a hotel. We ate dinner at the Regatta Bar and Grille, and had an exquisite dinner buffet with prime rib and crab legs, while watching WVU football. The staff were most helpful, friendly, and accommodating.

I found the hotel pretty average at best.

The hotel was easy to find with the GPS, and had $6 (Oct. 2009) parking across the street in a garage, as well as valet. The check-in and front desk experience was quick and friendly, and they made good attempts at honoring my room location requests.

I found the common areas and elevators to look modern and clean. I always agree that the elevator controls can typically give away a hotel's age, and these appeared to be mid to late 1990s technology.

I was warned by a coworker that when walking in the room they smell musky and moldy, and he was certainly correct. The room had a nasty smell at first. It tends to focus around the bathroom and it's pretty nasty. Inspection of all the duct work and air conditioning vents shows heavy dust buildup, I'd imagine that can't help with the room scent.

It was disappointing finding stains on the walls next to the night stand, and carpets that are in desperate need of replacement or a really good steam/shampoo cleaning.

The bathroom was clean but old. Though the water pressure was sufficient.

I laughed at the TV as you rarely find just an old beat up TV instead of a new HD plasma or LCD with high definition programming. The hotel had WiFi included, and seemed to have a router point on every floor.

Compared to other hotel offerings, this place is fine, with some need for improvement.

Within a short walk there's several food options ranging from Subway to a Chophouse and an Italian restaurant.

Great value for the money... Parking is free: room was like new with a lovely view of the river, and the walking trail along the river takes you to downtown Morgantown with great restaurants along the way.

We were in town for a family wedding and we had about 5 rooms. The room was nice and overlooked the river. It is also on the bike trail so you can go out for a long walk. Town is also a short walk away.
The gym was huge and also had a river view. The kids loved the indoor pool.
The wedding wasn't at the hotel and they gave all of us a fee ride to and from tthe wedding. That was wonderful!
The only complaint I have is there is no breakfast and you had to buy a very disappointing one in the restaurant. Also the parking garage is a good walk away but they do offer valet.
We'll probabaly be back next year for another wedding!

Stood at the hotel for a one night stop over in Morgantown. The location is on the river and a short distance from downtown and the university. The room was excellent as well as a very large bathroom. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area.

Stopped here for a quick night, on our way to Washington DC. Booked through Priceline in advance. The room was clean, and typically appointed, but much larger than your average hotel room--even the bathroom. My daughter enjoyed the indoor pool/hot tub. On the water, in a (somewhat deserted) warehouse district, we walked to dinner at Oliverio's for perfectly decent italian food.
