Just stayed at the Lakeview and was very wary after reading all the reviews here but was pleasantly surprised. Was just staying for a week's vacation time with another couple's time share at the condos. It was a bit outdated but we're not picky with our rooms, as long as things aren't falling apart and there's plenty of hot water and the kitchen was stocked with the minimums to cook a good meal, I'm happy.
The front desk definitely needs improvement as it seems to have a bunch of teenagers running the place. This is your front line of making an impression, if they could provide some more customer service basic to their employees it would make a very big difference. We did try to ask the front desk to send housekeeping to come clean and provide new towels and sheets and they seemed clueless as to what we were trying to request. Isn't this a resort/timeshare facility, isn't this a normal request? Very strange. We did ask for a cot and our garbage disposal got clogged and that was promptly addressed.
We were extremely impressed with the fitness center, it was like a full-blown gym facility not a cheesy hotel gym. There were indoor tennis, racquetball, daycare, full schedule of gym classes except on Fridays (very strange, people don't exercise on Fridays)?
We only tried the Legends restaurant and it was typical bar food but we were impressed with the Prime rib and Fish and chips. They had great happy hour deals as well, bucket of 5 Buds for only $7!! great deal! and they had live entertainment which was very enjoyable which added to local flavor.
Did get a hot stone massage at the Spa Roma along with 2 other friends and we all loved it! The building is very misleading, pretry ugly brick thing but when you walk in, its all a spa should be. The facility itself is not that big but it was great to just get away and get your massage. Doesn't have alot of extras like lotion, hair products, bath products for your after shower, which would have been nice.
There was a Super Walmart nearby for shopping and several fast-food type restaurants nearby, Outback, Ihop, McDs..etc.
As for things to do, unless you golf or like to fish, there's not alot to do. There's also caverns and white water rafting. So if you're looking to do alot there's really not much. We even headed downtown and there's nothing there but we did find a new restaurant called Boathouse Bistro which still needs some kinks worked out of it but overall a pleasant surprise.
So, don't expect alot from the condo/hotel facility and the service, both need updating. But if you plan to just use the pool, work out and golf its great. And you're very close to the Lake as well to enjoy the views.
