The Purple Iris has a wonderful reputation for hosting banquets and weddings. IT'S ALSO A RESTAURANT!! They don't advertise they are open Wednesday thru Sunday evenings. Call ahead for reservations. My husband and I have eaten there many times, several of which we had the dining room to ourselves. Extreme attentiveness from the wait staff. Best crab cakes around. Mostly crab with just enough breading to keep them together. They grow most of their own vegetables. Salads taste fresh picked because they ARE!!

Had my wedding there in 2006. Excellent place for such events, and fantastic food. Beautifully maintained facilities.

“Bad food and terrible service.”

Attended a retirement party there and was more than disappointed. They ran out of food with two tables of 8 left to feed. The servers simply shrugged and said there was no more of certain dishes. The number of attendees was four less than the reservations as some had to cancel at last minute. Food was bland, hot food was not hot, and after a dozen or so had gone through the line, no one bothered to spruce up the appearance of the serving dishes. Would not hold an event here.

“High end special”

This is our favorite special occassion place. The food is five star and the manion location is marvelous ambience.
