“Brief but enjoyable stay at Holiday Inn Martinsburg”

We just returned from a trip which included an overnight stay at the Holiday Inn Martinsburg. The hotel is quite impressive. The lobby is huge and neat. The check-in was smooth and friendly. Our room was neat and well stocked with towels. The towel quality was very good -- not the typical hotel thin towels, but very thick absorbent towels One of the nicer features is the pillow menu you can choose from. There were four different types of pillows to choose from if you want. My wife really appreciated the U-shaped pillow for neck support. Even nicer was the fact that the staff member who brought the pillows to our room refused to accept a tip offered for this service.

Breakfast in the morning was buffet style with a choice of fruit, muffins, eggs, pancakes, french toast, sausage and bacon. Although not included in the room rate, the price (5.25) was certainly reasonable for what you receive. Even though we didn't get a chance to use it, the indoor pool (which can be seen from the dining area) was HUGE, especially by hotel standards.

All in all, it was a great, if breif, stay. We are now planning on returning to Martinsburg to explore the area and look forward to staying here again. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Martinsburg area.

“Good Stop-Over Location - Good Price - Relaxing”

We stayed here on our way back from NYC to NC. We wanted to see some of the local area too such as Harpers Ferry, Shephards Town and Antietam. Good hotel, friendly, comfortable. Great amenities, newly renovated, convenient location, interior hallways, lounges, etc... Martinsburg was a nice quiant town too and we found a good italian restaurant near the downtown just a few minutes away.

I would reccomend that you stay here if it meets your budget (about $100/night). From being road-weary this is a good place to rest as you travel between destinations are come to see the local area.

“Nice hotel”

Nice hotel. We stayed one night on our way back from vacation. They are undergoing substantial renovation but it didn't affect us in any way except that it was a little challenging to find the main entrance. Prices seemed very low, perhaps because of the renovation work. Pool was open until 11 p.m. which thrilled the kids (and the pool was quite nice).

Room was very clean. We were thrilled with it overall. We had no refrigerator, probably because they hadn't gotten around to putting one in due to the renovation work. But it wasn't a big deal since we were there only for the one night.

We stayed here for 2 nights for a wedding since we were from out of state. Obviously the hotel public areas are undergoing some major renovations. However, our bathroom was terrible. The toilet didn't flush right, the shower was terrible (meaning dirty and grey gunk kept ending up in the tub but we weren't sure where it was coming from). Also our room didn't get cleaned after our 1st night. We called the front desk and they brought us some clean towels a few hours later. Also, our sister's room was left unlocked by housekeeping after they cleaned her room. Fortunately most of the floor was being used by our family but still--anyone could have walked in. The furnishings in the room itself were nice. Room was well-equipped with a mini fridge, small microwave and coffee maker. We didn't use these items but some may find them very helpful. The free in-room wireless internet service proved helpful as well. There are many shops & restaurants within walking distance as well.
