This was my worst hotel experience ever. I have stayed in several.
Arrived around 11 pm, we were very tired from the drive from home...we encountered snow emergency conditons on our way there.
Assigned rooms 119 and 121.
Rooms were musty, old, there was dead bug in my mom's bed in room 121. Mattresses were old, you could see through the sheets, nasty old blankets on the bed. Wanted to leave right then and there....but it was late and we decided to stay.
Bad decision. We were up till about 4 in the morning from the constant noise of the trains passing by. Very loud.
The next morning we complained and asked to be moved to different rooms...where we couldn't hear the train.
Moved to rooms 214 and 216. More of the same. Outdated, uncomfortable beds, very cold room.
We left for the day to go to a show choir competition. Didn't arrive back at the hotel until around 11:30.
Walked in the lobby, very loud music, drunks everywhere.
Went to our rooms with our kids....ages 13, 13, and 7.
Again, music was very loud from the bar area. Couldn't sleep. Very tired from not sleeping the night before.
Called the front desk and asked exactly when they planned on turning the music down.
Desk manager was rude. He said he would ask them to turn it down.
Well just the opposite...it was turned up louder.
Went down to complain at the front desk this time. I asked for a refund for our problems.....he said no. He couldn't do that and I'd have to talk with the manager in the morning.
The bar manager was in the lobby when I was complaining. As well as the drunks. I got a view of a large belly and breasts as she fell down over and over again.
Gross....went back to my room, got a phone call from the front desk. He said that the bar would give me my $60 back but I had to leave. It was about 12:30. I thought about it....got angry at the thought of packing up my kids and walking throught that mess of drunks again. I was so angry.
My husband looks out of our "pool view" window....and there is a naked man getting out of the nasty pool. He said pack em up....we are out of this dump.
Went to the front desk to checkout....gave us a refund for one of our rooms...from the bar....not for the second one....they said we'd have to take care of that one in the morning. I didn't care...I was fearing for our safety at that point....they were very very rude to us.
We left and stayed at the Comfort Inn right up the road about $20 more...but it was wonderful and I didn't fear for our safety. We actually were able to sleep in clean, comfortable, beds. No noise at all.
Went the next morning, the manager went to get the owner and he refused to speak with us. I said we weren't leaving until this was cleared up and our money refunded.
He finally came out to speak with us. They said that there was no naked man in the pool, they viewed the tapes. Basically saying we were liars. He refused to give us our money back he said only 50% was allowed to be refunded and to leave our address. We didn't get anywhere with this rude man.
I told him we would leave reviews on all of the websites I could find, write a letter of complaint to the corporation, and contact the Attorney General's office. His reply, "Go, ahead!"
The lobby was full of people who witnessed this.
So I would recommend you to save your money, sleep in your car before you sleep in this dump.
