This is a truly unique inn with fabulously friendly owners. I highly recommend staying here! My boyfriend and I stayed one night in October 2009 after spending the day on the Cass Mountain Railroad. It's about 20 minutes away from Cass and perfectly located along the route back to DC. In a rural and scenic mountain valley, the inn is cozy, warm and welcoming. The owners and their son (the inn's chef) live in the adjoining old farmhouse -- the inn's guest rooms are located in an adjoining garden-style building. They are very colorfully decorated and each has a unique theme. The innkeepers both have PhDs and are very smart and interesting and have worked in organizational management and personal coaching and are willing to talk about their experiences. It's a truly intellectual place with an enormous (and beautiful) library and game room (and a DVD collection to rival Blockbuster). We ate dinner and breakfast there and both meals were homecooked to perfection. We were also given a tour of the farm in the morning and got to feed the llamas, horses, sheep, and goats.

We absolutely loved this inn and would recommend it to anyone. Clean, affordable, friendly, unique, and definitely not your typical hotel. It's a perfect getaway.

We started staying at B&B's this ski season to change up our typical hotel scene We absolutely love it and Mountain Quest is the BEST B&B in the area!!! We brought our 2 daughters ages 9 & 11 and they were looking forward to coming back home to Mountain Quest to relax there after a day of skiing. This place is amazing! They have a huge 18K volume library and 1000's of DVD's to choose from, pool table, arcade, sauna/steam room and a jacuzzi. The views are amazing. They even let the girls help feed the horses. I am so happy that we found this amazing place that everyone enjoyed! We will return.

My family spent a long weekend at Mountain Quest last October, and had a wonderful time. This Inn is a real jewel. The scenery is breathtaking, and the accommodations at the Inn are exceptional. We absolutely loved our themed rooms. The library and game room are amazing. The staff is extremely professional, very gracious, and just wonderful. We intend to make this an annual tradition, and are heading back next month! We can't wait. This is a real vacation, very relaxing, and great family time. My nephew is a teen, and he loved it, so that definitely earns The Inn at Mountain Quest 5 stars!

We, along with 50+ friends and family, stayed at Mountain Quest Inn for our daughter's wedding. The Inn is set in a beautiful valley, surrounded by gorgeous views of many mountain ranges. The staff was more than accommodating to our every wish and the food was gourmet-quality served by the friendliest staff. Because it was our daughter's wedding and we were from out of town, our requests of Mountain Quest Inn were numerous and they came through for us every time. Our guests were aged from 6 months through 88-1/2 years and all were accommodated with the utmost of care. Every guest said they were treated so kindly and that the staff went out of their way to make them feel comfortable.

We highly recommend Mountain Quest Inn to anyone wanting to get away from telephones, television and many of the other stresses of life. There are several activities for every age group, including hiking, snow skiing, feeding the horses and lamas, wonderful sightseeing excursions, antique shopping, and too many more to mention.

What a magnificient setting for a small wedding (70+ guests). Hopefully, we will return some day soon to celebrate our anniversary.

Thank you Mountain Quest Inn!

Based on the review from Chattanooga, we booked the Inn for a last minute weekend trip. It could not have been better except that dinner was not offered that evening and the alternatives are many miles away. Anyone who wants a relaxing getaway should try the Inn at Mountain Quest.

My wife and I were looking for a B&B to stay at on our way to the Snowshoe, West Virginia area and decided to book a Saturday night at The Inn at Mountain Quest. It is located in a gorgeous valley about 25 miles southeast of Snowshoe. The Inn has a chef that is incredible. We had dinner there Saturday night and it was wonderful. Since the Inn is located many miles from the nearest town I strongly recommend you have dinner at the Inn. You won't be disappointed; the food was excellent and the service was top notch. Breakfast is included with the cost of the room and it was just as good as dinner. The room was $130 and the dinner for two was about $50.00. Dinner included salad, homemade bread, an entree and dessert. The Inn is truly remarkable. It has a library that encompasses two entire floors. It is the most amazing private library you will ever see. The Inn has a pool table, jaccuzi, sauna, and the most extensive video collection ever (no need to rent a movie since there is no place to do so and they have more available titles than my local video store!!) The Inn is located on 450 acres and has horses and llamas as well. It was a little too cold for us to do much outside but we did manage to get out to the stables and take a look at the animals. We always try to stay in a B&B when we take a trip and no one had written a review on this one so we had no idea what to expect. Well, it was great!!
