Owner description: Largest of all the state parks in West Virginia, Watoga has over 10,000 acres of sprawling woodland filled with a multitude of recreational opportunities. Camping at Watoga is unsurpassed anywhere. The 11-acre lake, which was previously Lake Killibuck, is used for paddle-boating, row-boating and fishing. Cast your line to fetch a trout, bass, bluegill or even catfish! Don’t worry, if you fail to catch dinner at the lake - there is a restaurant on the property which serves tasty meals. There are over 15 miles of road and 40 miles of hiking paths for enjoying the quiet beauty of the park.

“Nice drive through the park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2011

We spent some time driving through Watoga State Park. It was the first time I have ever seen an owl in the wild. The views of the mountains were very nice.

“Almost Heaven in the WV Mts.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2006

My husband and I have enjoyed visiting Watoga State Park for the past eight years, especially in the autumn. The cabins are clean and the housekeeping staff do a superb job in making one's stay so pleasant. We truly look forward to our yearly visits in the autumn as the leaves are changing colors and the air becomes a little brisk. Smelling the smoke drifting from the chimneys as it billows through the beautiful sky makes for a picturesque and peaceful environment.

We love Watoga!!!! I've been to 2 Becoming An Outdoor Woman weekends held there - had a grand time. I talked about it so much my husband wanted to see it, so we went there for our honeymoon. We plan to go down there for the Little Levels Arts and Crafts weekend and camp at Watoga, and we're taking friends with us. It's too wonderful to keep to ourselves!!!
