“Disppointing Food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

We wandered into the Gn. Lewis Inn for dinner on a recent visit to Lewisburg. We were early and it was not problem to be seated. The personnel were friendly and inviting. The tablecloths were a nice touch. We ordered grilled Rainbow trout which came with a small salad and 2 sides. The problem with the sides was that one of them had to be brussel-sprouts, no substitutions. We neither one wanted them, but they were on our plates. The rice side and the fish were very bland. The fish would have been flavorless with the over-abundance of salt! The baked sweet-potato was delicious, served with butter and brown sugar. At $50 (for 2) we think we could have done better. Overall we were not impressed enough to return to the Gn. Lewis Inn, no would we suggest others try it.

“Everything is fabulous”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

Dining room in historic inn. We sat by the fire place while we waited for our table. We didn't have reservations but they got us in quickly. The duck l'orange is great was everything everyone else had.

“Always a pleasure!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2012

Great food and friendly staff. They offer chicken, pork, seafood and steak. I do wish they would offer more of a selection for dessert. I had the stuffed shrimp which was new to the menu this visit.

“Could be great”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2012

Our waitress was pleasant and efficient. The dining room kept with the 19th century ambience of the Inn. Our salads were baby lettuces fresh from a container or bag salad. Nice, but nothing special. The food was cooked well, served hot, and made of decent portions. The pork chops had nice flavor and were tender. The pan fried trout was breaded and unseasoned. There could have been so much more to what ended up as bland in flavor and appearance. Plain white rice and canned or frozen overcooked green beans did not add to the meal. Lewisburg is an area with many fine restaurants using fresh and local foods; why can't the Inn step up its game and deliver at least fresh vegetables?
